Looks like Brexit unlikely!

Why would that be nice? They had an election, the Brits decided they wanted to leave.

Most Brits want to stay. Unfortunately, the political elite is mindlessly committed to leaving, and so they've blocked all calls for another referendum. It would be nice if that elitist effort failed, and the UK avoided this disaster. But the British leadership being composed disproportionately of inbred public school twits whose skills are mostly confined to genital-swine contact, I don't expect the disaster to be avoided.

God, you're so effing stupid and uninformed. it's the elites that been attempting to thwart Brexit from the beginning ffs. Most of Parliament are Remainers including that hugely biased bastard Speaker John Bercow.

We have enough arrogant arseholes over here thinking that they are so much more intelligent and aware than Brexiteers.

Come on, honestly, who ISN'T more intelligent than the Brexiteers? They define an intelligence threshold beneath which the functions of day-to-day life begin to exceed intellectual capacity.

But then again you were convinced that Trump was a Russian Manchurian Candidate planted by Putin are terrified of, screw them!!

I'm not sure what you were attempting to say in that sentence. Whatever it was, you clearly missed.

To my mind the impasse can only be resolved by leaving with a no deal....

That would be a resolution, I suppose, in the same sense that a mountain-sized meteor hitting England would be a resolution. It would be better, though, if the UK's leadership negotiated with the EU time for another referendum, and then the British people summarily rejected the idiocy of those who set the nation on this terrible path in the first place.

Parliament could vote for another referendum if they wanted. They have chosen not to. The majority of the elite is committed to this disastrous course. The British masses, on the other hand, are against Brexit, judging by pretty much all the polls.

The American voters elected Hillary Clinton with a majority of the votes, and yet you celebrated government by the minority and danced with glee that the Republican Party was rewarded with a stranglehold on the federal government even when most voters voted against them.

Ouch, that one had to hurt

That shows just how much you really know, they had eight different votes on Wednesday and a second referendum was one of them!! They were all voted down!!

Sorry I can't be doing with your elitist bullshit, it's clear that you're some precious hothoused Millennial that went to all girl private school and rarely mingle with common people.

We don't elect Presidents with a popular vote you dishonest ignorant asswhipe. We are a Republic of States you whiny moron.

You just suggested that the majority will expressed by vote is sacred and worthy of utmost respect.

So, unless you want to walk it back, you must think that there is something fundamentally wrong with Republicans continuously being awarded control of the government against the will of the majority of the voters.

There is no freaking way the framers of the constitution intended a system or anticipated a situation where our federal government was a government of the minority of the voters, nor that one party would rountinely be given a stranglehold on the government while routinely losing the popular vote. .

That would be nice. We'll see.

Here's my own favored solution: Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland secede and form a Celtic Confederation with the Republic of Ireland

You want Northern Ireland to join the Irish Republic? LOL! I promise you the Republic would want no part of that. Their army isn't big enough to stop the Ulster tribes slaughtering each other, and that would happen if they were forced into union.

As for your other thought - "Most Brits want to remain in the EU" - please cite a scrap of evidence for that, then we can discuss it.

She thinks that she's hot stuff and knows about European politics but is truly ignorant. Anyway this is the scene outside parliament now.

Where did I say that you lying lunatic? Link me to the post. In England, they voted on Brexit. Not a Presidential election you dishonest, brain dead partisan hack.

If you had an education, which you apparently either did not, or the system failed you completely, you would know that we are not a democracy. But a Republic of States. The founders correctly believed that it would be an imperfect union if a few highly populous states decided every fucking election like you Fascistic dumbfucks on the left would like see. Therefore, we have an ELECTORAL system that basically gives ALL states an EQUAL say in who gets to run the country.

I do wish you morons on the left had brains and weren't dishonest partisan hacks. But if that were the case, you wouldn't be ignorant low IQ liberal dumb fucks.

Now you can see why "truthie" has to rely on corny copy and paste videos

"51.9 per cent of those voting supported leaving the EU. Yet the British Parliament says FU to their voters. Why pretend this is democracy?" and that is not implying "the majority will expressed by vote is sacred and worthy of utmost respect?"

Now I see the claim "we are not a democracy but a Constitutional Republic" has been exchanged for we are now a "Republic of States," just as equally lame. Fact is the US is a Democratic Republic, we elect our leaders democratically to represent us in republican form of Gov't..

And the Founding Fathers bit is amusing, the major reason they instituted the electoral college is because they didn't trust the people:

It was equally desirable, that the immediate election should be made by men most capable of analyzing the qualities adapted to the station, and acting under circumstances favorable to deliberation, and to a judicious combination of all the reasons and inducements which were proper to govern their choice. A small number of persons, selected by their fellow-citizens from the general mass, will be most likely to possess the information and discernment requisite to such complicated investigations. It was also peculiarly desirable to afford as little opportunity as possible to tumult and disorder. This evil was not least to be dreaded in the election of a magistrate, who was to have so important an agency in the administration of the government as the President of the United States. But the precautions which have been so happily concerted in the system under consideration, promise an effectual security against this mischief.

Would you consider the former governor of the Bank of England Mervyn King to be one of those uneducated Brexiteers, you so sneeringly referred to earlier? After all what would he know compared to somebody like you?

Leave EU with NO DEAL! Ex-BoE boss Mervyn King rages at MPs to let UK LEAVE without deal

BRITAIN must now leave the European Union on World Trade Organisation (WTO) rules with a six-month delay to Brexit in order to ensure adequate preparation, according to the former Governor of the Bank of England.

So tell us there "fogcatcher," if the UK leaves as you want with no deal, what happens to Northern Ireland and the border?

So why did they vote to leave?
The elites want to stay because the elites are Globalist Capitalists. They generally want big countries with as many people as possible, because that means more customers.

It was what I'd call a Yates Election, in that the best lacked all conviction and the worst were full of a passionate intensity. But now, the majority has been made highly aware of the stakes ...

You misspelled Yeats. I'll overlook it this time. :)

The actual content, however, is a different matter. The 'best', as you call them, have most of the money and influence in Britain, and for the past three years they've been USING IT to scare, vilify and thwart what you call the 'worst' (i.e. the majority of people). It still hasn't quite worked, but they're getting there.

Don't you have the tiniest suspicion that you're being fed BS propaganda?

Sorry Arsecheese, I have no desire to discuss anything with you.

That's kinda funny, I asked a straight question on Brexit, nothing tricky, nor double edged, and the poster that keeps telling us he is the only one that understands what is transpiring can't answer it

Got to believe he don't know, least whatever British demogogue he listens to hasn't given him the answer yet

Want to try again, tell us, what happens to Northern Ireland and the border separating it from a EU nation?
