This is an exaggeration damo.

I just listened to the Spirit song.

Zep's opening guitar riff is very similar to the spirit song. Though, not exactly the same.

And Stairway is like a seven minute song. That first opening guitar part is only like 10 percent of the song, if that. The rest of Stairway is entirely Zep's creation.

Cypress.. its like saying if I write a Novel it would be ok for me to use the opening chapter of "Pride and Prejudice" .... hell its only one chapter out of 32. Im sorry I dont buy into that .. it was lifted... I listened to it too..and it is quite obvious.. especially when you consider that Led Zep opened for Spirit back in the day... when they frst formed the band. Jimmy page should have given Randy California credit... it would have been the decent thing to do.

Yes, it does. I'm not chuffed with Macca but if I ever see Jimmy Page in Lincoln High Street he's gonna get a piece of my mind.... lol

The reason I never got into Oasis was because of the obvious rip-off of the Beatles.....

Now Oasis is a different story... there are elements of the Beatles sound here and there... but its more of a influence than a blatant rip-off...
Like "Tears for Fears" .. same thing...they were more influenced by the Beatles than anything else...
The Beatles were influenced by Chuck Berry and Elvis.. and early in their career you can hear it.. but not chord for chord..

In the song Tuarus you can hear the opening guitar segment of Stairway to Heaven... its like I told Cypress.. it as if they lifted the first chapter of a novel. It aint rightous.

I don't disagree that the first guitar riff of Stairway is almost exactly like the notes in the Spirit song, and that Zep could have a least said that small part of the song was lifted from spirit. The stairway song as a whole though, is almost completely original.

According to wikipedia, Randy California never felt like stairway was a ripoff osf his music. And he's the one who has the right to complain, not me.
