Man forced to ditch $115K Ford EV truck during family road trip to Chicago

Can you even read? Find a 10 year old to help you with the big words please as you are painfully stupid.

I say MOST offer valet and like an idiot you reply back 'NOT ALL' thinking you are making a point.

And you are wrong. Many city dwellers with EV's do have mass savings on gasoline costs. They charge at work and at their condo where they do not pay any additional cost, and that is 99% of their driving. No energy or gas expendituires.

Be smarter.

Most Courtyards, Hamptons, Embassy Suites, HGI, and Doubletrees do not have fucking valet parking unless they are in cities that charge for parking, Damn! Done with your silly ass

Typical MAGA moron.
MAGA isn't a person or a moron.
SFH knows he's on the losing side of this debate so he has to make shit up so he thinks he's winning.
There is no winning or losing or debates. There are only conversations.
It costs significantly LESS to run your EV than it does to run a gas car. It's one of the many reasons EVs are so popular.
AGAIN you are failing to account for all costs. You are only counting the cost to recharge it. EVs are EXPENSIVE. They are subsidized. The ONLY reason they succeed in the market is because of fucks like you that think you are 'saving the planet', and because of government subsidies and mandates.
It costs significantly less to maintain as well.
Blatant lie.
I'm living proof. I've owned my Tesla Model Y for two years. Zero $$$ on maintenance. Oh wait. $5 for windshield washing fluid.
I already know you don't maintain your car.

I rest my case.

...and THEN you get to spend hours recharging it. My car has better range and only takes me minutes to refuel it. It's cheaper to buy too. A LOT cheaper. I can do my own maintenance too. I don't have to take it to a dealership to maintain it.

I could not get to the closest major airport and back without a charge, ridiculous

Yesterday i watched as a big pick up truck assessed whether he could get into our condo garage to use the guest parking. He could not.

No one should drive pick up trucks. Ridiculous!

So then it is not for you.

A technology is not good only if it works well for 100% of the people.

Arguing against a technology because it 'does not work for you', is just stupid.

The vast, vast, vast, majority of people use their vehicles 90% of the time to commute to work and back and then out for small errands and back (groceries, etc), and an EV is perfect for them.

I have no use for a pickup truck in my life. It would be wasted and burn excess gas. that does not mean a pick up truck is not perfect for many other people.

EVs are ancient technology, Luddite.

Not really, if properly maintained. Wait until your unmaintained bearings start to seize.

They will continue to improve rapidly but they are ready now.
Ancient technology is not an 'improvement', Luddite. The battery is essentially the same from 1980. The only thing that has changed with the EV is slightly better motors and new body styles.
Meanwhile, gasoline engines have improved a LOT. They are all FADEC now, getting far better efficiency than an EV (which currently uses about twice as much energy as simply burning gasoline to move the car).
Auto manufacturers care about the 80% of template drivers (work, home, errands, etc) to push out volume sales, and EV's are perfect for that now, in most markets.
There is no such thing as a 'template' driver. Auto manufacturers are LOSING MONEY on EVs.
For those in the 20% who need something else, that is fine. It is the none volume sales most dealers can get the big margins and profits from. Many people will have two vehicle. An EV for everyday and another for other uses.
So NOW you are suggesting that everyone buy TWO cars??????!? That's an EXPENSIVE commuter car!

Marriott's and HIltons are not discount hotels. Most, if not all, offer Valet parking services.
Most have no Valet.
If a 'working person' who buys an EV does not want to wait to get a charger himself, if they are in use, he can use some of the money he saved on gasoline to tip the valet to do it for him.
You are not saving money. EVs are more expensive to buy, drive, and maintain.
What he cannot do is enjoy the mass savings from gasoline and complain about having to wait to charge, because he is a 'working person' who does not want to tip the valet.
Most hotels have no valet. I don't have wait to charge and stay in a hotel at all while the damn car is charging.
That would be the type of entitled asinine thinking that comes from the right and not left.
There it is. The admission that you are driving an EV to be politically 'correct'.
Wait your turn for a charger and keep all your savings in your pocket.... or go about your day and let the valet do it and tip him.
No savings. EVs are more expensive AND more inconvenient.

Look stupid.

I am not saying they are good everywhere.
The government is, and YOU said it too. Don't try to deny your own posts!
Pickups rarely have any use in condo's in busy downtowns.
They certainly do, ya lousy ingrate!
They often cannot fit in parkades.
They certainly can!
Does that mean that no one should have a pick up truck? Of course not.
Paradox. YOU JUST SAID that no one needs a pickup truck in town!!!
I know that as i am not stupid like you.
Nah. You are much more stupid.
I would NEVER make the argument that pick up trucks are not in 'X' location therefore they are not good. Again because i am not stupid like you.
YOU JUST DID, ya stupid moron!
For the vast, vast majority of city/work/errand commuters the EV is a perfect car or second car.
Who are YOU to say what is the 'perfect car' or the 'perfect second car'?????!? You made YOU king??
You keep chiming in with 'but ya there are not many charging stations in XYZ' does not change the facts of what i said.
You are locked in paradox and arguing against yourself. Irrational.

I've had an electric car for years.

Sort of. It's a Plug In Hybrid, Hyundai Ionic. I can run it electric most of the time, and I have gas when I need it. Pure electric makes no sense to me. Plug In's are the best of both worlds. I can always run gas when I need to.

So you have a gasoline car with the weight of an extra engine in it.

Can you even read? Find a 10 year old to help you with the big words please as you are painfully stupid.
He read you stupid lies just fine.
I say MOST offer valet and like an idiot you reply back 'NOT ALL' thinking you are making a point.
Blatant lie. Most do NOT have any valet.
And you are wrong. Many city dwellers with EV's do have mass savings on gasoline costs.
Special pleading fallacy. You are just spending it on the car instead.
They charge at work and at their condo where they do not pay any additional cost, and that is 99% of their driving.
Blatant lie. Most condos have no way to charge an EV, and most work places have nowhere to charge an EV.
No energy or gas expendituires.
Blatant lie. TANSTAAFL. You have to PAY for electricity, dumbass!
