This idiotic dead horse talking point has been refuted so many times only a man with a broken stick or someone with absolutely nothing better to do would continue to beat it. There are sonly a few "leftist media outlets" and they have absolutely nothing in common with the huge multinational corporations you mention here: Rolling Stone Magazine, The Nation, The Progressive, The New Left Review and maybe one or two others. They are not big businesses and they are certainly not part of the swill that you claim is leftist here. So give it a break because you are seeing leftists were none exist! What part of this do you not understand?? This is not about a budget. This is about the GOP trying to repeal Obamacare by any means possible. If you think repealing Obamacare is worth the gov't shutdown then don't complain that people are blaing the republicans. They DID it. At least have the balls to own that fact.

The deficit is down 37.6 percent for the first 10 months of the 2013 budget year, according to the Congressional Budget Office. But a new survey conducted by Google at Paul Krugman’s request finds that more than 50 percent of Americans think it’s still growing.

You're so right; these entities are all Marxist, Socialist, and Communist endeavors that are not bound by any rules governing the actions of corporations in the market place or governing their fiduciary responsibilities to their share holders and therefore are all under investigation by the SEC for their complete disregard for profits that must be the first responsibility of all these corporate entities with the possible exception of NPR which is now nearly run exclusively by the right wingers who dominate the NPR governing board. If you didn't have your head so far up your butt that you can't think you wouldn't post such shit and pretend it wasn't anything less than ignorant right wing blather! But you can keep posting this shit as long as you want. No matter how many times you repeat it won't make it any more true than if you only said it once. Did you ever stop to think that Fox and the AM radio crowd is right biased and by the standards they have set for themselves in their ideology, that it only appears that the mainstream media is "left biased"?
I mean you have 5-6 channels saying basically the same thing on any given subject and one that puts a right wing spin on EVERY SINGLE SUBJECT.....
Lastly, I don't like 24/7 news cycles. They tend to be hyperbolic and will run with anything to keep people tuned in.
I normally keep my viewings to ABC nightly news. Although I will tune into O'Reilly, then Maddow for a good contrast on occasion.

In 1976, 81% voted for Democrat Jimmy Carter over Republican Gerald Ford.
In 1980, twice as many cast their ballots for Carter rather than for Republican Ronald Reagan.
In 1984, 58% supported Democrat Walter Mondale, whom Reagan defeated in the biggest landslide in presidential election history.
In 1988, White House correspondents from various major newspapers, television networks, magazines, and news services supported Democrat Michael Dukakis over Republican George H.W. Bush by a ratio of 12-to-1.
In 1992, those same correspondents supported Democrat Bill Clinton over the incumbent Bush by a ratio of 9 to 2.
