Mental Illness is not to blame for gun violence

Criminals haven't preyed on anything of mine that I'm aware of except for 2 old chainsaws that I left sitting on my front porch one weekend that I was not at home. But in the opinion of folks who think like you do I (and people like me) am supposed to be the one who is "punished" (excess cost, paperwork, taxation, etc., etc.) for wanting to purchase a firearm. No thanks. I'll keep "screeching" if that means never voting for and always campaigning against those who would actively work to make it harder for citizens to purchase a firearm.

Criminals haven't preyed on you yet.

So far, you haven't been a victim that you know of.

Excess costs, paperwork, and taxation are going to be inherent in any commercial purchase. So buck it up, buttercup.

If you feel you're being unfairly punished because of the actions of your fellow "responsible gun owners", then go and talk to your fellow "responsible gun owners" about it. Because they're the ones acting irresponsibly with their weapons, which causes all of these things that you think are punitive.

So instead of directing your impotent rage at people trying to achieve gun control like a fucking pussy, direct that impotency to your "very fine people" who are not responsibly owning their weapons.

That's a YOU problem, not a WE problem.

Translation: Has your house burned down yet? Why have fire insurance? Are you afraid? You're a fucking lowlife coward if you have fire insureance.

You have a gun to protect yourself from criminals armed with guns they stole from you.

Masturbatory. Cynical. Circular. Irresponsible.

The "responsible gun owners" are making you look bad.

So you go talk to them and make them act more responsibly.

Oh, you have no business doing that? OK, then you have no business owning a gun if you're not willing to accept the social responsibility.

A thread started by you about the mental illness of others is hilarious.

Why do you believe guns have been stolen from me? What is this fantasy you have of me masturbating with guns? Why do you think I'm irresponsible? Do you have evidence or is this just the voices again?

You really don't like firearms, LV.

That's cool. I don't like seafood except for fried haddock or grilled swordfish. Shellfish make me really sick.
My wife and I liked the room service surf and turf at Bally's, but she took both the lobster tails and I took the two little fillets.

But the gun thing--have you had personal incidents?
You seem more dug in than most.

What is this fantasy you have of me masturbating with guns?

Your argument is masturbation.

But because you're naturally a dishonest person, you chose to fixate on the word "masturbation" while ignoring the context.

The only reason you did that was because you were cynically trying to derail that part of the thread, because I get under your skin so easily.

Great! So when a lobster kills 60 people in 60 seconds, we can have a chat about seafood control.

Until that time happens, let's focus on the actual threat, which are gun owners.

But the gun thing--have you had personal incidents?

No. I haven't been a direct victim of a gun crime and I don't know anyone personally who has.

What I am a victim of is the terrorism that gun owners inflict on everyone.

Gun violence is how white supremacy maintains its hold on the country, so I am terrorized into accepting a status quo where I could be gunned down by a "very fine person and responsible gun owner and well-regulated militia" in a supermarket as I'm buying fucking groceries.

That's terrorism. Gun owners are terrorists.

Untrue.

Gun owners are what I don't like.

That's not worse?
I'm not one to talk, though.
There is no shortage of people who I don't like.

Before I got drafted, guns didn't bother me at all.
I lost interest after that, but I've still got my firearms in storage.
I don't obsess over them like you do, but if you've been hurt by them,
or are frightened by them,
it would be natural for you to dislike the guns and owners alike.
It's only natural.

That's not worse?

You're the ones who tell me that guns aren't the problem, people are.

So when I express that people are the problem, you tell me that I hate guns.

So this just ends up being circular.

The whole gun debate is cynically circular, and gun ownership is terrorism. It's terrorism because I have to accept the status quo that a "very fine person and responsible gun owner" could at any moment cease being a "responsible gun owner", and I have no control over that because you don't want anyone to.

So you are terrorizing me into accepting a reality where I have to live in fear of being gunned down in a public place because none of you wanted to take any steps to protect me.

So that's gonna be a big "fuck you and fuck your guns" from me to you all.

It's only natural.

I dislike gun owners because they're terrorists.

Every gun owner is terrorizing me into accepting a reality where I can be gunned down in a public place at any time.

So since none of you want to do anything about that, I'm going to direct my rage and ire at you for forcing me to accept that terrorism while refusing to hold yourselves accountable for it.

So again, if that's your position, fuck you and fuck your little pussy guns.

I will reserve all that resentment and direct it squarely at you and your fellow terrorists.

Fair enough, LV.
Being American means you're susceptible to getting capped--our imperfect constitution stipulates that--so you don't like being American.
It can be rough, I'll admit.
I have plenty of complaints myself, but I just don't care about guns, one way or another.
We can't all care about the same things.

You buy a gun because criminals steal your guns and you want to prevent that.

If you can't see how that is masturbatory, then you're not an honest person.

I don't. If they haven't, it's because it hasn't happened yet.

200,000 of you lose your guns every year.

So really, it's a matter of time before you lose them yourself.

Your argument is masturbation.

But because you're naturally a dishonest person, you chose to fixate on the word "masturbation" while ignoring the context.

The only reason you did that was because you were cynically trying to derail that part of the thread, because I get under your skin so easily.

Because you're doing nothing to reign in "responsible gun owners" who lose their weapons or act irresponsibly with them.

Thank you for proving my point. QED

I'm not sure where it says I have to be terrorized while I live my life.

In fact, we are guaranteed life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, which I cannot do if I'm being terrorized daily into accepting an unreasonable reality that I could be a victim of a "responsible gun owner" who decided that day to not be responsible any more.

Not sure what that has to do with being an "American", and quite frankly my dude, that is terrorism.

You're using gun violence to terrorize me into accepting a reality where it is inevitable.

So if it's inevitable that I will be a victim of a "responsible gun owner" at some point, then isn't it reasonable for me to not want there to be any "responsible gun owners" who will make me a victim?
