General Howey would love a huddle up. All those stinking shivering marines and soldiers huddled closely together trying to keep from freezing to death at night with hyperthermia pissing themselves on purpose trying to stay warm. We used it in Vietnam during monsoon.

Wouldn't General Howey just love that?

Because I stuck with the southerners. The southerners were the best fighters in Vietnam. They always had your back. I was lucky enough to have many in my platoon.

Rank, education, training, and accomplishments. This is not really a matter of brass vs. common soldiers. Senior NCOs/Petty Officers are just as prone to political BS as are generals. I find that E-6s and E-7s will engage in the most pointless resumé building initiatives around the unit to make rank.
