From the stories I have heard, cars designed to kill (commonly known as tanks) are extremely scary things.

Yes - briefly & due to the Nazi Democrat terrorist CovidScam keeping people from living their lives by going to work, service, school, etc. You can't be serious; even a Democrat can't be asking a question this silly... If that were clear, cars would still be much more deadly & likely to maim than guns.

No, car deaths have been dropping for several decades, while gun deaths have not been. The two crossed over before Covid-19, back in 2019. There is no reason they will cross back again any time soon.

Car deaths are greater than gun deaths; gun deaths must have suicide factored out, particularly as Boomers age. Firearm suicide must be factored out. Baseless assumption, particularly when factoring out firearm suicide.
