MSNBC Host To Rick Santorum: What Are You Doing About ‘White Men With Guns’?

So tell me what he could have done rather than just continuing with your cheap insults. You must have had this all figured out since you brought it up.

You thinking I'm a partisan hack is too funny. Pot, kettle...

Ok... so you ARE fucking retarded? I ALREADY FUCKING TOLD YOU. HE COULD HAVE OFFERED THE REPS SOMETHING ELSE THAT THEY WANTED IN ORDER TO GET THEM TO DROP THE DEFUNDING LANGUAGE. DO YOU HONESTLY THINK THE REPS ONLY WANTED THAT ONE THING?

hopefully the caps will draw your feeble mind to the words that matter. Yes... you are a hack. Because AGAIN... you think that only one party was responsible for getting us close to a shutdown... when in reality it was BOTH parties.

You said they could have offered SOMETHING ELSE. I guess you have to be non-specific because you really don't have a clue, just like all Obama bashers who talk big and think small.

What quid pro quo would the repubs have accepted in lieu of defunding Obamacare? You must have an idea since you're so knowledgeable about their workings. Your revisionist history is pitiful.

"In January 2013, Republican Sen. John Cornyn of Texas wrote that "It may be necessary to partially shut down the government in order to secure the long-term fiscal well being of our country, rather than plod along the path of Greece, Italy and Spain."[SUP][43][/SUP] The New York Times later reported that soon after Obama began his second term that month, a coalition of conservative activists led by former Reagan administration Attorney General Ed Meese (who is also an emeritus fellow of the conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation),[SUP][44][/SUP] began developing plans to defund the Affordable Care Act.[SUP][45][/SUP] They strategized that they would be able to block implementation of the Affordable Care Act if they could persuade congressional Republicans to threaten cutting off financing for the entire federal government.[SUP][45][/SUP] Meese's coalition produced a "blueprint to defunding Obamacare". The plan, which said "Conservatives should not approve a CR [continuing resolution] unless it defunds Obamacare,"[SUP][46][/SUP] was signed by leaders of more than three dozen conservative groups.[SUP][45][/SUP]

As reported by The New York Times, conservative activists, supported by funds from the billionaire Koch brothers and conservative political action committees, worked with Tea Party-affiliated members of Congress, such as Senators Ted Cruz and Mike Lee, to promote an appropriations bill that would exclude funds for the Affordable Care Act.[SUP][Notes 1]
[/SUP]
In July and August 2013, Sen. Mike Lee, along with fellow Tea Party-affiliated Senators Ted Cruz of Texas,[SUP][48][/SUP] Marco Rubio of Florida,[SUP][48][/SUP][SUP][49][/SUP] and Rand Paul of Kentucky,[SUP][48][/SUP] lobbied their colleagues in the Senate to support a letter written by Lee calling for defunding the Affordable Care Act. The letter was eventually signed by 19 senators, although 5 of the co-signatories later withdrew their support.[SUP][50][/SUP][SUP][51]
[/SUP]
Freshman Rep. Mark Meadows of North Carolina circulated a similar letter in the House of Representatives that was signed by 80 House members.[SUP][50][/SUP][SUP][52][/SUP][SUP][53][/SUP] The New York Daily News wrote that it was Meadows' letter that had put the federal government on the road to shutdown,[SUP][54][/SUP] noting that calls to defund the Affordable Care Act through spending bills languished until Meadows wrote an open letter on August 21, 2013, to House Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor asking them to defund the Affordable Care Act in any appropriations bills brought to the House floor.[SUP][52][/SUP][SUP][55][/SUP] CNN described Meadows as the "architect of the brink" for his letter.[SUP][53][/SUP]

Joshua Withrow of the Tea Party group FreedomWorks, which had endorsed the Meese coalition's plan months earlier,[SUP][46][/SUP] explained the overall strategy, writing in August 2013 that the continuing resolution due to expire September 30 "must be renewed in order for the doors to stay open in Washington. The CR is the best chance we will get to withdraw funds from Obamacare. This can be done by attaching bills by Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) or Congressman Tom Graves (R-GA) to the CR, which will totally defund Obamacare."[SUP][56][/SUP] He added, "Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) and Congressman Mark Meadows (R-NC) are leading the charge to get their colleagues to commit to this approach, by putting their signatures to a letter affirming that they will refuse to vote for a CR that contains Obamacare funding...."[SUP][56]

As the shutdown loomed on September 27, The Washington Post reported that several Republican members of Congress made public statements expressing approval of the impending shutdown. Rep. Michele Bachmann said "We're very excited. It's exactly what we wanted, and we got it. People will be very grateful." Rep. John Culberson said "It's wonderful. We're 100 percent united!"[SUP][64][/SUP] In an interview with Fox news host Sean Hannity, Bachmann said that she believes there has been "strong unity" between conservatives on almost every budget vote. Bachmann said: "This is about the happiest I've seen members in a long time, because we see we are starting to win this dialogue on a national level."[SUP][65]

With only an hour before the start of the shutdown, Republicans in the House attempted to start budget conference-committee negotiations. Senate Democrats, who had attempted to start such negotiations 18 times since January and been denied by GOP members each time, balked: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid stated, "We will not go to conference with a gun to our head," while Senate Budget Committee Chairwoman Patty Murray criticized the move as an attempt by Speaker Boehner "to distract from his constantly changing list of demands."[SUP][69][/SUP]

Short memory? Btw, a few anger management courses might help your foul temper. Just sayin'.

"Democrats view keeping the government open and out of default as Congress’s most basic job, and the characterize anything that threatens that as “ransom,” so they say they’re not willing to come to the table until the government reopens. But, in context, the GOP’s biggest talking point of the shutdown falls apart when you consider that Democrats only started refusing to negotiate after Republicans stopped, the hour before the government shut down a week ago.

For instance, through a Senate Democratic aide, here are all the times since this spring Senate Democrats tried to negotiate with Republicans by sending their budget to a bicameral conference committee. Every time, Republicans blocked the move:

1. 4/23 Senator Reid requested unanimous consent to go to conference, Senator Toomey blocked.
2. 5/6 Senator Reid requested unanimous consent to go to conference, Senator Cruz blocked.
3. 5/7 Senator Murray requested unanimous consent to go to conference, Senator McConnell blocked.
4. 5/8 Senator Warner asked unanimous consent to go to conference, Senator McConnell blocked.
5. 5/9 Senator Murray asked unanimous consent to go to conference, Senator McConnell blocked.
6. 5/14 Senator Warner asked unanimous consent to go to conference, and Senator McConnell blocked.
7. 5/15 Senator Wyden asked unanimous consent to go to conference, and Senator McConnell blocked.
8. 5/16 Senator Murray asked unanimous consent to go to conference, and Senator Lee blocked.
9. 5/21 Senator Murray asked unanimous consent to go to conference, and Senator Paul blocked.
10. 5/22 Senator Kaine asked unanimous consent to go to conference, and Senator Rubio blocked.
11. 5/23 Senator McCaskill asked unanimous consent to go to conference, and Senator Lee blocked.
12. 6/4 Senator Murray asked unanimous consent to go to conference, and Senator Rubio blocked.

16. 7/11 Senator Murray requested unanimous consent to go to conference, Senator Marco Rubio blocked.
17. 7/17 Senator Murray requested unanimous consent to go to conference, Senator Mike Lee blocked.
18. 8/1 Senator Durbin requested unanimous consent to go to conference, Senator Marco Rubio blocked.
19. 10/2 Senator Murray requested unanimous consent to go to conference, Senator Toomey blocked.

“For six months I’ve tried to enter into formal budget negotiations with Paul Ryan, only to be repeatedly denied permission to negotiate by Ted Cruz and the tea party,” said Senate Budget Committee Chairwoman Patty Murray, D-Wash. “Now, a week into a government shutdown that he could end at a moment’s notice, Speaker Boehner is simply trying to distract from his constantly changing list of demands.”

So AGAIN... as I stated, I acknowledge the Reps did it. Now idiot... WHAT DID OBAMA DO?

That was the topic until the sociopath weighed in with his stupid comment, which you would understand if you actually read it in context. He started by saying blacks kill more people with guns, transitioned to all violent crime and then tried to claim that blacks commit the most violent crimes, which is demonstrably false according to the FBI tables.

"how are white men wrecking havoc on our country with guns? Black people kill WAAAAY more people with guns. People really shouldn't be bringing race into the gun debate (when one side doesn't even believe there IS a problem). But if one side is going to insist on doing that, we can post the numbers of who committs the most violent crimes, and it aint white people."

what I said was 100% true, you are just being deliberately obstuse (or I am giving you too much credit and you are just a retard)

Black people (on average/per capita.. whatever other thing I need to spell out for a simpleton like you) are the biggest problem when it comes to violence. It's absurd you would look at raw numbers and treat that as the biggest problem when white people are on average not committing as many violent crimes. Anyone that read what I wrote knew exactly what I meant. You are a just a fucking moron.

You are a fucking sociopath who, like all sociopaths, can't stand to have your stupidity paraded in front of you. Eat shit and die.

By number and by percentage whites are responsible for more crimes than blacks. FBI - Table 43 You don't like it, take it up with the FBI.

You are just an arrogant, insufferable hater who should be put down for the good of society.

lmao look how mad christie gets at me.

you are an idiot christie, I don't know why I bother wasting my time with you. Black people commit more crimes than white people. That is a fact. No one discusses populations using just raw numbers, it would be a pointless exercise. If you wanted to address the problem you would focus on where the problem is most dense.

When you talk about white people going around causing violence, you are being very disingenuous (essentially lying), because white people on average commit far fewer crimes. When you make an OP with that smug dumbfuck look on your face alluding to white people running around causing all this violence, you are misrepresenting the facts. When half of our violence is coming from 12% of the population, THAT is where the problem is, not with white people. Hence why you are a retard.

Go smoke a yule log, you will feel better. I'll make a Christmas cookie for you!

Hey Christie let's try this thought experiment. If given a choice would you rather walk down the street in Jarod's neighborhood at 1 am or a street in Compton at 1 am? And you don't get to choose NEITHER. Which one would you pick?

I will completely understand if you will be afraid to answer.

You "bother" because you're a gold standard hypocrite. You bloviate endlessly about how how other people should use ignore author, forced ignore and thread bans but don't take your own advice. That's because you WANT to call names and you WANT to argue and insult anybody who doesn't fall in with your opinions. You do this with 90% of the liberals here and yet you give a pass to the most vulgar and vicious comments by cons under the pretense of free speech. Again this shows you as a hypocrite, because you're essentially saying that I and the others you hate shouldn't have free speech.

Newsflash, I pay very little attention to your posts and it's been that way from the beginning. I only come back at you when I see you spouting some ignorant comment about me specifically. You should man up and take your own advice about filtering out people you don't like but that's unlikely to happen because you are too much of a hypocrite to give up your nastiness.

I look at raw numbers because they tell the story about the victims... how many PEOPLE were killed, how many PEOPLE were assaulted, how many PEOPLE were raped. You're pretty dopey if you don't understand what it means when 9000+ people were raped by whites v. 4500 by blacks; 188000 people victims of aggravated assault by whites v. 102000 by blacks, etc.

I can't think of any reason why you and the others focus on black violence as opposed to ALL violence except that you are fucking bigots.

perhaps its because every time you complain about gun violence not being stopped by removing guns you point out an attack by some insane white guy, but refuse to even acknowledge the fifty homicides by young black gang members who are using guns they obtained illegally..........

And yours is a case in point about why I complain. When a white guy attacks, it's because he's "insane"; when a black guy attacks it's because he's a gang member using illegal guns. That's how you separate people in your heart and mind and that's why I consider people like you to be closeted bigots.
