He was three hundred yards from Trump with a gun that can easily make that shot. His gun was illegal for him to own because he is a felon and he has filed off the serial number. His social media posts all profess his hatred of Trump. He broke several laws even if he shot no one. So no he wasn't innocent because he didn't fire his weapon.
