Your TV needs something to access the internet if it is not a smart TV, hence the PS or PC.

It is, lol. Actually having the internet on the big screen is nice, easier on the eyes. I have a 32 for my pc now.

It doesn't you have to have something that allows internet access to your set like Amazon fire stick or Apple tv.

Yes, like a computer it attaches to an HDMI port on the TV, not the cable input.

I take it your tv is not a smart TV. Therefore you need an external device that can connect with your TV (ps uses an hdmi connection) to the internet.

Smart TV means your TV has an internal capability of accessing the internet. Basically your TV has wifi. Think of a lap top that can connect to your home network without any cord/cable. A smart TV is essentially the same thing and comes pretty loaded with apps like Netflix, Amazon etc... In short, the TV acts like your lap top with its wifi router that connects wirelessly to you cable (modem) internet.
