It might be better if Fox hangs around and is discredited, loses credibility. If Fox dies, then something else will replace it. Could be worse. With Fox injured but still there, they prevent a more sinister version from replacing them, but carry all the disreputable dirty laundry with them, preventing them from gathering more support.

It's just like kicking the hate mongers off Twitter. They just went somewhere else and now have less scrutiny and oversight.

Might be better to keep Fox right there in the open where we can keep a good eye on them and point out their mistakes.
