It should. The word allegedly is not proof of guilt. No one should be presumed guilty for allegedly committing a crime.
Goerge Zimmerman allegedly murdered a kid, even though that never happened.
It's not "proof of guilt", and proof of guilt is not the only alternative to your claim of "unlikely" - both are not the word's definition.
You just can't admit you're wrong that the word does not mean "unlikely", but rather "claimed but not proven" whether unlikely or likely.
