Newt takes his jab at R Presidential Hopefuls...

CAW, I do not have the time nor inclination to do a full evaluation of the rise of the neocon party.
Not even sure I have the writing skills to do it justice.
You write the book on it and I will buy one for giggles.

You brought up the neo-cons. I asked why you called the Contract for America the Contract On America and you have yet to be able to answer other than you are just repeating a talking point from a party you supposedly don't belong to.

Then you said Newt and the Contract for America led to the neo-cons. You were asked what in the Contract for America led to neo-cons. You didn't answer that as well.

The contract was all about lowering taxes, ending corruption in our elected officials, protecting big business against the interest of the consumer via so-called tort reform, deregulation and the idea that government doesn't work.

Now, other than ending corruption which bush actually encourages, there is nothing there that we haven't seen in practice for the past 7 years. And it gave us such things as Katrina. you don't elect people to run an organization they say can't work, because they will make sure that it doesn't.

There is plenty of Newt in this 7 years, however, he was not a neocon nor was he a theocrat, specifically leaving such things as homosexuality and abortion off the menu. So you add the nuttiness of the neocon ideology and the whackos on the religious right to the Newt mix, and you get this administration. This adminstration has got it all. Religious nuts, neocon nuts, and big business whores.

Do you think that America is happy with it? I don't.

Warping and spinning again caw?
You inserted the contract on america as to causing the neocons, that is your spin not Mine.
I answered on why I considered Newt the fathwer of the neocon movement. His followers got out of control and capitalized on the religious right.

Get off the bottle there boy.

LOL!!! Wow. You have yet to answer a question based on comments you made I guess I don't expect you to start now. And then you project comments you made onto others?

For whatever reason you are incapable of having an actual conversation. You enjoy just throwing out random one liners. Hey, its a free board and if that's your M.O. then more power to you my friend.

Basically, USC is saying...

While Newt was not a Neo-Con, his revolution allowed the Neo-Con movement to gain ascendancy by taking over the movement and moving it into the solely religious camp rather than its inspired beginning which did not deal with the religious aspects and was strongly in conservative ideals.

Thanks Damo. I do appreciate the clarification.
Wish I could compose stuff like you and Darla.

As you recall our initial discussion was about the Contract for America with uscitizen called the Contract on America. The many follow up questions simply asked what he felt about the Contract was an actual attack on America? The question is not intended as an attack at him.

I know the term 'Contract on America' is a left-wing term or phrase they have used. I thought I was giving him the benefit of the doubt by believing he had legitiimate complaints agaist the Contract rather than just throwing out a talking point.

Ahh, well the contract on america as it was written and as it was implemented were slightly different things. I discovered from reading it the other day that the the republican term "personal responisbility" only applies to welfare reciepients. This explains a lot.
