So let's do some math and see if the cost savings are there:

For those in employer-provided plans, the average worker spends about $5K on premiums and another $1,500 on deductibles for a total of $6,500.

The average income in the country is $56K.

So...

4% x $56,000 = $2,240 in taxes to pay for M4A.

Contrast that to:

$5,000 + $1,500 = $6,500 in premiums and deductibles to pay for privtae insurance.

Is $2,240 > or < $6,500?
