'Obamaville' sign posted near homeless camp

Um... Jarod, it is worse since Obama took over. There are some signs that this may turn around, that we may have hit bottom, but it is not "better" right now than it was in January.

Depends on what you mean by worse.... if we are speeding at 100 mph toward terrable... slowing down to 5 mph toward terrable is better in my opinion... even if we are further down the road toward terrable. Especally if it looks like we will soon be traveling the other direction.

President Obama has presided over the start of one of the greatest econonic turnarounds this country has ever seen.

QUOTE]

Maybe I need to move to Florida because if what you say is true I'm living in the wrong state.

Its true all around this nation, in a year you will have to eat those words, if you are willing to take your blinders off.

In a year when the economy is picking up steem in the direction of recovery you will hear all kinds of Republicans saying one of two things...

1) It was always going to recover dispite President Obama.

Or

2) Recovery, what recovery?

Wrong-o, Hackocles. We are losing FAR fewer jobs per month now than we were at the beginning of the year.

I would be glad to eat those words but they are true today. I'm a capitalist first, partisan second. I am also in the job market looking for work. So while its nice for to spout 'we're in the greatest recovery ever' I'm in the real world where my industry is fucked (commercial real estate) and even with the contacts I've built up over 15 years there is not shit available.

So maybe you have some insight or contacts for me that would help because I would love to take my blinders off and not see the over 12% unemployment rate in California and the lack of jobs out there.

LOL. No, it doesn't really depend. We fell off a cliff, and somebody attached one of those tiny plastic parachutes to the back of the car, they are desperately trying to add more and more of those tiny plastic parachutes and if they get enough of them attached we might slow the fall down enough to not blow up and destroy every passenger when it hits.

We are still falling, it isn't "better" than it was.

talk about horse shit, the average recovery is 6% GDP. Not only are we not there, few are predicting it.
And let me save you the pot whole, the worse the recession the greater the usual recovery.

yet we are still LOSING jobs. Loosing them at a slower pace and then proclaiming to have 'saved or created jobs' is nothing short of moronic.

I know the media and the admin are clinging to every piece of good news and hoping the public sees that rather than the pieces that are not so pleasant, but bottom line, we still have several major hurdles in front of us.

Without GDP growth in the 6% range for the next 12 months, we are not going to see unemployment get back down to the 8.5% range. With the credit card problems, commercial real estate problems and of course the lack of credit all around, this economy is not likely to get to that 6% range.

quit apologizing for the One.

easy freak, you'll scare him away and we'll lose the comedy.
You need to forget your a professional sometimes and let the tools go longer.

I forgot, Jarod doubled his salary this year and bought a new house... no wonder he thinks its the greatest recovery ever. I would probably feel the same way to.

This isn't about "saved or created." You are attempting to distract by bringing that into the conversation.

Hackocles stated that things are no better today than they were in January.

Do you agree with that? Yes, or no.

That is a total rationalization.

In the time since Obama became president, millions have lost their jobs. That is not a slow-down in a speeding car.

What you are saying is like driving a car off a cliff and bragging about the great gas mileage you are getting as you fall.

So, just to get this straight, a stock market lower than 7,000 and losing jobs at a clip of 500K a month is roughly on par with a stock market over 10,000 and losing jobs at a clip of 11K a month, because "we're still losing jobs."

Okay. Got it.

Obama just switched on the NOS......

They aren't better, between now and January how many jobs were lost? Please add all of them up. Millions are not at work and it has happened since January, that is not "better".. The economy is far lower than it was in January.

It's like saying we are "higher up" now than we were a week ago after climbing down a 14,000 ft mountain and finding ourselves starting to level out but still heading downhill....

Again, there are some signs that we may have hit bottom and may start going back up, but it's going to be quite a time before we even come even with where we were in January, let alone where we were when it all began.

Nah. If you want to go with a nature analogy, it's more like being stranded on a raft in an ocean, and going from a hurricane area to a calm area where land is in sight, and saying that things are no better because we're "still on the ocean".
