Once again, Trump is being handed a good and growing economy on a silver platter

Trump is not in office, yet corporations are buying as much as they can get from importers to fend off the financial damage that Trump has planned. The damage Trump's ignorance portends for America's economy and global markets is not being missed by business. They are preparing.

Well gee, maybe it's about more than the economy.
It's interesting, I was intrigued by this idea of 42% people thinking the economy was great. Doing a Google search I found a CBS news segment saying 42% of people (including those who didn't vote) thought the economy was good. Maybe that's semantics but I see a different between good and great.

To your point though, if people's expectations have brightened (in this case based on election results) I could see how more people might have a more positive outlook.

And those Corporations will store a lot of stuff and after Trump puts his tariffs on sell those products at the higher price and make a killing , their profits will go up and up.
CEO of Auto Zone and Walmart have said they were going to increase the price of their products as soon as they were sure Trump was going to put his tariffs on, and rip off the American consumer all because Trump is a dumb fuck.

How Is the Economy Doing?

The current economy is defined by strong economic growth, a softening labor market and slowing inflation.
The state of the U.S. economy is strong despite inflation remaining elevated. The economy is expanding at a crisp pace, the labor market is loosening slightly and inflation is slowing from its peak. The Federal Reserve looks at several economic indicators — along with the stock market — to form a better picture of the economy and make decisions on interest rates.

Is the U.S. economy growing?
Q3 2024 Real GDP: 2.8%

What is the U.S. unemployment rate?
October unemployment rate: 4.1%

How fast are wages growing?
Wage growth rate: 4.6%

Is inflation going down?
October CPI Inflation rate: 2.6

Four years ago, Trump practically guaranteed that if Americans dared to elect Biden he would cause a catastrophic economic depression.

IF Trump actually implements his campaign promises as claimed, it'll tank the economy.

This is why I doubt he'll do more than a token effort then declare victory and blame the Democrats for any failures.

We are making the major purchases we need. I know others doing it as well.

It doesn’t matter what type of statistics you present them, they think Biden did an awful job and our economy sucks. Thats why they are MAGA, low information voters.

Well I would advise anybody that is going to make a large purchase to do it A.S.A.P.
A friend of mine works in the office at a local Walmart and she was telling me they are getting ready for their office workers to be working 24/7 punching in the new prices into their computers so when a product is scanned it will have the higher price caused by Trumps tariffs and they will go into effect as soon as they are sure Trump is going to put the tariffs into effect.
So you could be paying a lot more for stuff even before Trump puts his tariffs into effect. and corps. like Walmart will rake in Billions in profits.
It was just on the news here that these tariffs will cost the average American family a min. of 2600 dollars a year or more.
I am glad to see Trump and his low IQ MAGA followers think working families have this kind of money to piss away .
There are people working two or more jobs JUST to be able to put food on their tables and a roof over their heads what the heck are they going to do?
They are JUST getting by now.

We are going tomorrow if all goes as planned.

Can Trump do anything about legal weed in California?

I think a lot of MAGA morons are on liberal social welfare programs like disability, food stamps, social security and they don't have to worry about getting a job, and they assume Democrats and Rinos will protect their social welfare benefits..

I think he’d run into opposition from the States Rights Supreme Court, but who knows, they are wishy washy.

Well with the MAGA and right wingers taking over Congress and Dems having pretty much no say in things when they start cutting those safety net programs like they say they want to, people on SS, food stamps and other programs won't be getting the money they are now and with costs going up because of Trump's tariffs what are they going to survive on.
As I said before some people had better start staking out their place under the bridges all over the USA, because they won't be able to afford to put a roof over their families heads and will have to cut back on the food they put on their table.
They say these tariffs are going to cost the avg, American family 2600 to 2800 a year if not more.
Hold on to your ass it all hits the fan Jan 20, 2025.

I just assumed California's legal marijuana industry was protected from Trump, but I am pretty ignorant about the legal and administrative issues
It's still against federal law but Trump going after only one state and not all of them equally won't work well for him.

You are free to post some proof that my numbers are off

In 1965, total U.S. government expenditures were approximately $118 billion, according to historical data from the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB). This includes spending by both federal, state, and local governments, with the federal government accounting for the majority.

In 2023, total expenditures by federal, state, and local governments in the United States were substantial. Federal government spending alone accounted for approximately $6.1 trillion. When including state and local government expenditures, the combined total rose to an estimated $10.5 trillion.

I can share my census figures as well if your cognitive dissonance is up for it - but I think you know I am not making this up - and you just don't really want to look at the numbers because it destroys your narrative.

Actually, I'm having a hard time figuring out exactly what it is you've got that big, fat wad of crap in your diapers about to begin with.

Judging from your initial post, you seemed to be making some moronic generalization that advancing technology should have made everything less expensive.

This overly broad, sweeping statement that technology should have caused everything to get steadily cheaper and cheaper fails to take anything else into consideration. Not inflation, not increased wages of the workers who produce things, not the costs of raw materials, not the cost of fuel to run equipment and transport goods, not the cost of insurance, not the population increase since 1965, not the forces of supply and demand that drive price increases, not the changing world outside the US, etc, etc.

You've taken virtually nothing into account in blabbering your fake gibberish.

1965 - 2023 = 58 years.

What kind of an idiot can't understand that the world has changed drastically in 58 years?

First, there are 130 million more people in the US compared to 1965.

And as I explained to you, wages have gone up drastically.

In 1965 the average annual salary was $4,122.

Adjusted for inflation that was equal to about $35,000 in 2024.

IOW, what a lot of people are making today.

But then, you then flip flop from the cost to live and provide for a family, over to the subject of the cost per person to fund the government.

So which is it that's got you soiling yourself.... the cost of goods and services that people use in their everyday lives, or the government's budget expenditures?

You can regurgitate a bunch of numbers like cost per person figures etc, and toss around terms you don't fully understand like "economies of scale" and "cognitive dissonance" all you want, but if you cannot link them together in a narrative that makes whatever point it is you think you're trying to make, then you still can't hide the fact that you're a low-minded trumper idiot.

And naturally, in typical trumper idiot fashion, you tried to lay the blame for increased govt spending squarely on the backs of the Democrats, when it was a Democrat (Bill Clinton) who gave us the first balanced budget in decades, and the Crapublicans, including trump, who came along behind him and blew it all to hell with massive tax cuts for billionaires and corporations.

You don't like hearing that the mega wealthy don't pay their fair share in terms of percentage of income, even though they own the vast majority of the nation's wealth and could easily afford to pay ten times what they currently pay because it destroys your bullshit claim that taxes are as big or bigger of a burden on them as they are on working people.

You like numbers so much, here are some for you to digest....
