Well, now that the libbie left dream of this being a white guy has passed, it is time for them to make sympathetic victims of the muslimes. I wonder why libbies bend over backwards to defend muslimes who abhor everything about liberalism? Politics definitely makes for strange bedfellows

I think it's easier for people to focus their anxieties on foreigners because nobody wants to think of how Americans turn on each other every day. It's much more satisfying to reflexively blame someone who looks like an outsider, like that poor Saudi kid who got fingered the first day because he was dark-skinned.

Here are some headlines on Eric Rudolph, not a single one mentions his religion. Why is that?

I think that is quite simplistic given the frenzy we saw with Zimmerman/Martin. While it is easier to think of crazy people if we pretend they are all foreign, I think we have seen in the past few years we have plenty of crazies in the US as well.

I will say again... I think the non-stop barrage of 24/7 coverage of 9/11, Iraq, Afghanistan etc... has hammered that image into peoples heads. How many IED stories did we see and hear about?

I can only guess...

1) the 24/7 news cycle wasn't the same then as it is now as back then it was in its infancy
2) We are a predominantly Christian nation (according to stats, not government) and thus it goes to your point that we don't want to think 'one of ours' could do such a thing. Thus, the media doesn't focus on that aspect.

3) The media is a bunch of whores... they over sensationalize everything they can to keep the populace watching... because that is how they get paid. They KNOW the knee jerk reaction a lot of Americans will have at the mere mention of 'Muslim'. They know they can use the 'fear' (as irrational as that is) of those 'crazy Muslims' to drive the story further.

I seem to remember you congratulating LAPD for their success in assisting in the suicide of Christopher Dorner after they set fire to the cabin he was in. I guess that's not really violence on their account, since all they did was start a fire.

Yes we do, but we don't add Christianity into our frenzy. People called GZ a murderer but they didn't call him a Christian murderer.

That's true and what was the result? Ten-plus years of increasing bigotry and fear because of the small percentage of Muslim terrorists. You mention 9/11, IED, etc. What about all the hate that surrounded the Park 51 mosque, the Muslim community center in KY, the Murfreesboro TN mosque, the Islamic Center in Dearborn, etc. etc. How about support for Terry Jones and the Qur'an burning? I can find dozens of examples of Muslim hate spawned against the majority because of terrorists. I just don't believe we should feed that hate with rhetoric and demonization by playing the Muslim card for every terrorist act.
