Our descent to third world status now appears inevitable.

What we’ve learned in the post-Reagan era is this:
America can remain a center-right nation or a globally relevant nation but definitely not both.
We’ve seen the results of tolerating libertarians who will not be governed.
We’ve seen the results of rejecting social modernity.
We’ve seen the folly of believing in moderate solutions for immoderate problems.
And we’re now seeing the results of catastrophic mistakes made during the framing of our constitution.

This is what we’ve got left:

We’re domestically a boiling cauldron of hatred as our tolerance for one another is all but completely depleted.
We’re now rapidly heading toward Waterworld because we’ve done nothing about man-caused climate change.
Our economy is predictably tanking because we’ve failed to address the ever expanding wealth gap between the oligarchs and the working class.
China will now have to find other customers to support their economic dominance because our consumers are nearly out of money.

The founders fucked up by giving rural conservatives excessive representation relative to their number.
Rural conservatives have used that power to run American deeply into the ground.
There is no strong national will to reverse that trend. We've essentially accepted our fate, even if not consciously facing it.
Thus, we are getting the dystopia that we so richly deserve as the modern world leaves us in the dust.

We Euro-American boomers will be the last generation of Americans to have lived most of our lives in civilization.
The descendants of African slaves never quite got there,
and the indigenous Americans lost whatever they had of it centuries ago.

A bleak outlook indeed. But when the ppl have their bread and circuses, what need of revolution do they have?

How come all you old fuckers keep crying about how 'bleak' every fucking thing is? There IS an alternative you know.

Where did I cry about bleakness, CindyLou? I merely said that Nifty's outlook was bleak. Go bark at someone else, old man who's got years on me. lol

Oh. I thought you may have fallen down those stairs that I warned you about.
Ever add a second handrail?
Put some non-slip material on the treads?

At your age, that's an accident waiting to happen.

I would be amused, I'm sure, to hear it, Jack.

You've already rejected partition, the one thing that could at least save some of us.

Maybe you should huddle with Pollyanna to come up with some totally unrealistic plan involving reasonable people that don't fucking exist.
Refusing to face reality doesn't make it cease to exist, Jack.
You're just letting it hit you in the back of the head instead.

odd that all the bad shit that is happening is happening in the blue lib'rul urban areas instead of the red conservative rural areas.......

Once you get rid of Silicon Valley, Wall Street, Hollywood, the universities, and the rest of productive America... What will you have left?

I'm at the point where nothing much phases me.

trump will go down in history as being slightly less of a cancer to a nation than Hitler was to Germany.

The alt right desperately needs the productive Americans to support them. The productive Americans do not need the alt right.

Yes you do need us, or you will starve. (of course, everyone to the right of you is the "alt right").

They both rely on the under educated for support.

What makes you think you're so fucking "educated" compared to rural Americans? Think you could do my job? You couldn't read the blueprint, much less figure the steps to make the part.
