Our Fine-Tuned Universe: Accident or Design?

ZenMode:

It has nothing to do with the sun. It's because the human body has become imperfect because of inherited sin from the first man, Adam. And nobody said anything about an apple. The Bible did not identify the forbidden fruit.

Adam was told not to eat from one specific fruit tree but that he could eat from all of the others.

Genesis 2:8

Further, Jehovah God planted a garden in Eʹden, toward the east; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

Genesis 2:9

Thus Jehovah God made to grow out of the ground every tree that was pleasing to look at and good for food and also the tree of life in the middle of the garden and the tree of the knowledge of good and bad.

Genesis 2:15

Jehovah God took the man and settled him in the garden of Eʹden to cultivate it and to take care of it.

Genesis 2:16

Jehovah God also gave this command to the man: “From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction.

Genesis 2:17

But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die.”

Adam rebelled against the Almighty and ate of the forbidden fruit. He thereby became imperfect. He failed the test and brought old age, sickness, and eventual death to all of humanity.

Romans 5:12

That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because they had all sinned—.
I understand what the Bible says. Adam, Eve and the Sun all existed before Adam ate the apple. So are you saying that human skin changed from before he ate the apple to after he ate the apple?

Asking AlterEgo hard questions will only piss her off, Mode. Jus' sayin'.

Don't expect an answer to that question anymore than the incest question of Cain becoming a motherfucker.

The entire human body began to slowly die after Adam rebelled against Jehovah God. Notice how the scripture says it:

Genesis 2:16

Jehovah God also gave this command to the man: “From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction.

Genesis 2:17

But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die.”

Adam did not die immediately, but he was dead within a "day" because Jehovah is able to designate specific time periods to be equivalent to a "day" whenever it is applied to humans.

2 Peter 3:8

However, do not let this escape your notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.

Scripture says Adam lived to be 930 years old (which is less than 1,000 years = a "day").

Genesis 5:5

So all the days of Adam’s life amounted to 930 years, and then he died.

It would have to be more than the body dying, right? If there was UV protection, presumably existing at a molecular level. Any change in that would fundamentally change the molecular makeup of the human body.

They have no problem admitting that the car required intelligent designers (humans), while they get on the religion forum and insist that our universe (against which the car pales by comparison) created itself.
oh riiiight that makes sense....to them

Getting skin cancer and all other illnesses is the result of inherited sin. It's part of the dying process.

Howe does that happen? Was the sun a different sun before and after The Fl? Did it not produce UV rays before and God completely transformed the molecular makeup of all stars in the universe? Was it the fundamental molecular make up of human skin that changed? It was immune to UV before, but not after, meaning that God snapped his fingers and changed “skin” as punishment?

Wrong. We do not insist that the universe created itself. We have no idea of the beginnings of the universe. There simply is not enough evidence or understanding of the natural process by which the universe exists. We have no problem admitting that limitation of science. YOU on the other hand say 'God did it'. There are two problems with that theory. First, you cannot explain where GOD came from. Second, there is a long history of explaining natural occurrences that are not understood by chalking them up the gods. And yet every single time we determine what caused those occurrences, it has NEVER, EVER been a God that did it. Thor does not make thunder by banging his hammer. An eclipse does not occur because a giant dragon is eating the sun. I can go on and on and on. Belief in God is the height of arrogance. It suggests that man is created in the image of the most powerful being to ever exist. It suggests that God waited billions of years before he finally created his 'chosen', and then intervened in some petty dispute in the desert of earth. Again that is the height of arrogance. And that arrogance causes believers to slaughter each other with absolutely no empathy or compassion. Religion requires a suspension of logic, intelligence, compassion and empathy. It requires that you slaughter those who do not believe as you do. The only thing that keeps these religions in check is secular law. WE are the guardrails that prevent you from acting on those things that you are taught in the Bible. You do not believe you have any responsibilities for your actions as long as they are in the service of something that was made up centuries ago. It is sublime.

The reason why we grow old and die is because at some point, the cells stop repairing themselves because of the death sentence placed upon the first man, Adam. God didn't "snap his fingers," he simply withdrew his protection.

Romans 5:12

Scientists who study the human body have concluded that there is no explanation for why our cells stop dividing and our bodies grow old. The Bible explains why at Romans 5:12, quoted above.

But all is not lost. Jesus Christ replaced Adam and repurchased humanity from Adamic sin and death when he died a sacrificial death.

Because the first Adam was perfect when he sinned, it required another perfect human to repurchase what the first Adam lost. That's where Jesus Christ came into the picture. He was a perfect angel in heaven, Jehovah God's only-begotten son. His spirit life was transferred into Mary, a virgin, who gave birth to him as a perfect human.

1 Corinthians 15:45

So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living person.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

John 3:16

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.

1 John 3:16

By this we have come to know love, because that one surrendered his life for us, and we are under obligation to surrender our lives for our brothers.
