Papal front runners. If the Black guy becomes the next pope, white Republicans will scream DEI till their buttholes explode

He does express his thoughts well, doesn't he? It's kind of funny how many self-proclaimed Xtians here say that @Cypress, who obviously knows far more about the history of Christianity than all of them put together, isn't a man of faith. Resentment and jealousy, eh?
I just have a basic working knowledge because I read books. I get the impression MAGA morons are repulsed by books?

You spend all you time here posting insulting memes and words at others in a most unChrist-like manner. Yet are poutraged over a meme. Okay then, Cletus.

BTW my mother was a Sunday School teacher and devout Christian. We kids spent literally YEARS in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Confirmation classes, and church. I've read the Bible front to back (except I skipped that whole so-and-so begat so-and-so bit lol) several times -- RSV and the King James. We had to memorize large passages. Your words here indicate that your ideas about Jesus and Christianity were fed to you by flawed humans. Try reading your Bible again, this time with your heart. You'll be amazed when your eyes finally open.
I can count on one hand the number of self professed Christians in JPP's history who even attempted to emulate the example of Jesus.

Since their Orange Jesus isn't a reader, neither are they.

Besides, since Trump tells them everything they need to know, why do they need other sources?
Given the vitriol with which MAGA morons disparage higher education, I don't think knowledge and learning is high on their priorities. 99 times out of 100 they are just parroting talking points they got from right-wing social media, rather than giving their own original thoughts and ideas.

Not their thing. Over the years that I've worked with and lived among evangelical Xtians, I've noticed that most of their knowledge of the Bible comes not from self-study but from what they're told from the pulpit. Most of them (like Stone, Toxic, TD, etc.) on this thread seem to consider their alleged faith something that makes them superior to others. This is, of course, exactly the opposite of what Christ taught. Some of them (same suspects) also have weaponized it.

My mom read constantly -- histories of the faith, Christian fiction, religious books written by pastors and scholars, daily devotions, books of prayer, and of course the Bible.

Agreed. It's pretty obvious they, like others who support authoritarian states, seek to attack both the intellectuals and the media.

They've also been caught engaging in labor racketeering schemes some years ago, funneling desperate Vietnamese workers to meat packing plants in exchange for money. They still engage in labor racketeering, steering refugees to sweatshops and were recently in court trying to exempt themselves from paying state unemployment taxes.
Link?

Dont get me wrong,....I harbor no I'll will toward people who belong to the Catholic faith. I'm sure most are fine people. I do however feel bad for them that they have been deceived so BADLY. They need to read the Bible more,....if they did there is no way they could possibly continue being Catholics considering the fact that much of Catholic doctrine goes DIRECTLY AGAINST the teachings of the Bible. Calling the Pope or a priest FATHER? Have you never even read the Bible? Clearly they are not to be called that. There are many examples like this. It is one thing if just average every day people within the church do these things mistakenly,.....it is quite another when Church leadership itself is teaching false doctrine.
You think that grifters preaching the "prosperity Gospel" read the Bible?

Humility is not something frequently found amongst MAGA morons.

Blind faith is a type of self deception. The Jesus of the gospels always encouraged questions. There is certainly a type of genuine Christian faith that can sustained by evidence and rationality. Your mother sounds like she was always searching for knowledge and answers, and my Mother was kind of the same way too.
