I hate seeing people using women as a defense like this. It's really disgusting. It's outrageous actually.

Check your statistics fuckwads. Women are most likely to be murdered by someone they know, and are far more likely to be shot to death than to use a handgun for self-defense. I mean this is just disgusting when the real world consequences of this nonsense are not even up for debate.

I doubt too many of them voted against the bill solely because Obama wanted it. Which is why there are no names listed. While it is an added bonus, the majority of Reps constituents are against mundane gun laws. Even more would be against them if the Dems were honest about the issue. But they are not. Instead they use fear mongering tactics to scare people into thinking these new laws will help.

As citizens, we can't stop a criminal from buying an illegal firearm from the trunk of another criminal in some dark alley.

But, that's where the criminal should be forced to buy a gun. In a totally illegal setting, with all the inherent dangers that come with it. BUT, our current laws sanction criminals being able to walk into a gun show, receive expert advice, discounts, then buy whatever weapon(s) they desire without a background check or having to pay black market prices or risk the dangers of buying a weapon from another criminal in a dark alley.

a piece of paper does ZERO to protect against someone intent on doing harm. and in SOME states, a purchase permit is required, usually signed off by local police agencies. so pull YOUR head out of your ass and realize that we're trying to actually help women help themselves.

If a woman or a man refuses to obtain a method of self-defense when they feel threatened,....well yeah, they are likely to shot to death.....
