Because I don't. COVID-19 is a really bad case of the flu (loosely defined). I don't care. If I get it, so be it. If I don't okay. If I do, I will stay home and whine about how miserable I am and deal with it. But, I am f***ing sick and tired of those sniveling, malingering, whiney, useless snowflakes who think that the world they live in should be 100% safe. I want no part of that misery and I will not let them make me miserable by forcing me to participate in their delusions.
Surprise surprise. You rightys have downplayed the worst flu since 1918. If a Dem was in office you would be screaming about the horror of this disease. Fox and Infowhortes would cry about the flu apocalypse. There would be nothing but flu coverage.

Dr Fauci said the mask is much more effective in protecting others than in protecting yourself. Nobody knows if they might be asymptomatic and contagious unless they have been recently tested, and only 8% of the nation has been tested, total. That is total tests, going all the way back to March. Obviously, old tests are less useful because an individual could contract the virus after testing.
We may believe we are doing this for ourselves, but we are doing it for others, doing it for our fellow Americans. That is why I say it is the patriotic thing to do. When you wear a mask you are looking out for your fellow Americans more than you are looking out for yourself.
It is very inconsiderate of your fellow Americans to go without a mask. That shows a selfishness and a disdain for America.

So far, we are doing a lousy job of fighting this war on the bug.

Who thinks they can be 100 percent safe? Try and be accurate. The procedures we take are helpful and if you follow them all, your chances of getting Corona are mitigated. It is not snowflaky to not want to get Corona. Nobody forces you to do shit. Just be the big brave American and ignore all the safety procedures if you want. You are super tough guy. We are all impressed.

Actually, government is forcing people to wear a mask. Their rules on this are generally so vague that most people wearing one are doing so in ineffective manners. It's different when government says "You should wear a mask" versus when government says "You will wear a mask."
No one is forced to wear a mask, anymore than anyone is forced to wear shoes. If you want to sit at home, without a mask on, no one cares.
