Peanuts is dead

I'll do my best to make sure the grass on his grave is kept moist.

I was in my third week of Air Force basic training when that happened, it was very depressing to my entire squadron.

As I said, I was not fond of all things done by Carter. Still, he was good hearted, and did serve our nation.

He deserves recognition for not abusing subordinate employees wearing a blue dress or such.

Carter was perhaps the best ex-President in American History. He was a good man, if ineffective President.

May he rest in peace.

Tell it to the relatives of the 8 who died on Eagle Claw.

Tell it to the relatives of the 8 who died on Eagle Claw.

From the inside, having seen similar things developing in Afghanistan, prior to the botched withdraw, and from things I have read about the formation of that operation against the Iran Radicals, it was much more at the feet of egos at the Pentagon, than Carter's direct involvement or orders.

The problem was that Carter was too weak to stop the B.S. before the launch.

The entire operation should have been done under the command of the Navy, with the expertise of Marines for the ground force. The Army and Air Force egos should have been told to pound sand.

No armed service is better at rapid projection of force in foreign theaters than the Navy. The Navy is probably our most important military branch.

Well, there you go. Remember the sign on Truman's desk?

Carter should have known better as an Annapolis man who'd held command.

Yes, but at the time he was the President, and dealing with OPEC and the energy crisis, and the aftermath of the extreme anti-Black-Racist LBJ.

There was also a huge problem of drug addiction to synthetic opioids plaguing the nation. He Trusted the Pentagon to do a good job.

Well, once again, Reagan said it best, "Trust, but Verify".

I doubt I would be a very good President!

Do you think you could personally do better?

Good Leadership is hard to find, and by the time they are wise enough, they have few years left!

Facing simultaneous challenges and making command decisions was a surprise to him?

If he wasn't up to the job he shouldn't have run.

Wasn't a character portrayed by Clint Eastwood that said, " A man should know his limitations! "

I'm not going to be running for President.

But I will wish Carter RIP and thank him for his service.

If only people who think they are destined to be GREAT, EPIC leaders choose to run for U.S. President, I suspect we'd have nothing but an endless stream of Egos and failures like Obama.

Carter did run for President, and he accepted that responsibility. He failed.

I will not excuse him.

"Wishing RIP" is a mawkish-sounding, mealy-mouthed exercise of meaningless virtue signaling.

Peanuts can't hear you. He's dead.

He's not going to jump out of his casket if someone doesn't say it, is he?

How do you think you will be judged by St. Peter?

I myself, recognize that I am in the great grey middle area.

Over all, I think I have done more good than harm, but it will be my great great grand kids, that get the final word.

I'm not superstitious.

I'm not superstitious.

I huge portion of the human brain is dedicated to non-linear pattern recognition.

Now, as a scientist, mathematician, and programmer, I could go into digital, synthetic, analog simulations of neuron based neural networks and Bayesian interpolations of highly variable, multiple dimensional models of real world concepts and problem outcome predictions...

Or I could just say, that humans are superstitious because of most often it works, and not just slightly, but very effectively.

Humans are religious and superstitious, because those who were not, died at the bloody hands of those that were superstitious.

And don't forget the power of collectively enjoyed music. We, humans, like chimps, dogs and gorillas, are social animals! Our cooperative effects are always orders of magnitude more powerful than any of our individuals.

Sources say that as of today, Peanuts appears to have remained dead overnight.

Peanuts could not be reached for comment.

Jimmy Carter, may he rest in peace, like most Democrats inherited a fucked up GOP economy, Iranian shit and inflation. I mean the guy didn't have a chance...but folks this is the template of Democrats who inherit shit from GOP presidents and have the American Stupid snappin at their necks thier first days in office wanting shit fixed yesterday. We leave them recovering sound economies and they leave us with shit.
