Proud to serve my country!

And of course you showed great outrage at Obama and the 10 or 12 or 14 people he appointed to his inner circle that failed to pay their fair share of taxes ....like Tim Geithner, etc. and don't forget Sen. Daschle & Sen. Rangel
.

.
Well, actually, no you didn't, did you

"Big Oil giant Exxon Mobil, which last year reported a record $45.2 billion profit, paid the most taxes of any corporation, but none of it went to the IRS:

Exxon tries to limit the tax pain with the help of 20 wholly owned subsidiaries domiciled in the Bahamas, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands that (legally) shelter the cash flow from operations in the likes of Angola, Azerbaijan and Abu Dhabi. No wonder that of $15 billion in income taxes last year, Exxon paid none of it to Uncle Sam, and has tens of billions in earnings permanently reinvested overseas."

Where's your outrage?
If we're gonna go after taxes lets go after the big bucks! Oh I forgot, Republicons get lots of $ from Exxon.

I belive Exxon should be taxed and taxed big. I also belive we should move away from income tax and have an inheritance tax and some other taxes... but I am still proud to pay what our elected officials have said I owe.

What a couple of re-fucking-tards you two are. If the US corporate tax rate wasn't excessive then corporations like Exxon wouldn't have moved offshore.

You especially Jarod; 'proud to pay'.

why the hell should my kids or grandkids pay a tax on something I give to them upon my death, AFTER i've already paid taxes on it?

Let's see.. you have one Representative, and 2 Senators, unless my education or memory are faulty. Isn't that a 1/3 success ratio?

You call 1 out of 3 doing "very well"?

So both your Senate representatives betrayed your trust, eh?

What will you do?

What will you do?

since one of them isn't running for office this year, i'll vote for the best of the candidates running. In 2012, I won't be voting for the one currently there.

Surely you can't be that dim. They paid a higher percentage then other wage earners. Now you explain to me how that is fair, Liberal. :pke:

Now I'm a liberal? Where'd you come up with that? Are you still claiming that my dead mother communicates with you?

Sorry, we don't have a flat tax.

They paid the same as other wage earners in the same income bracket, and you find that strange?

If they were forced to pay more than others in the same tax bracket, that would have been an issue.

Your issue is with the income tax, it seems, so why not just refuse to pay it?

After all, don't you have the Constitution on your side?
Afraid to admit that you're liberal? LOL

Again, the issue here is that some folks pay higher percentages of their income then others. Amendment XVI allow the Feds to tax income and is not specific with regards to rates or the progressive nature of the current Code, but the progressive nature is certainly inconsistent with Article I Section 8 regarding the required uniformity of Duties, Imposts and Excises.

How again is this considered fair to you? Or that's right, you deflected the question because you don't have a logical answer. :)

Taxation is fair if all receive equal treatment according to their category.

Where is the basis for this in our Constitution? And why quit just because of income level? Why not tax men differently than women, or whites different than blacks? Or straights different than gays?

Again, the basis for a consistent rate is Article I Section 8 regarding the required uniformity of Duties, Imposts and Excises.

And according to Webster, an impost is:

im·post

Etymology: Middle French, from Medieval Latin impositum, from Latin, neuter of impositus, past participle of imponere
Date: 1568

: something imposed or levied : tax

So again, tell me why it is fair that I pay a different income tax rate then you or anyone else?
