human/animal nature being what it is, this isn't always the truth. of course, the difference between MOST humans and animals is a higher thought process retained by humans...........but a human will, and should, always consider the quality of life (or lack of one) that the child will be left with before giving up on it's life. Self preservation is still a natural instinct for all life forms..........self sacrifice is only a consideration after the fact.
