Rand Paul KO’s Fauci in the first round

An apples to apples ‘cases’ comparison would be with other large countries that have a porous border. For example, the EU in 2015 had immigrants flooding in from Syria and North Africa and had that been going on during a pandemic it would skew their case count in the wrong direction relative to other large countries/regions.

The border factor has been steadfastly ignored throughout all of this. Even as we speak there are thousands of immigrants crowded together with zero considerations given to any kind of mitigation. Then there are released and end up—everywhere and anywhere. But the border towns are absolutely screwed.

i think it's probably much more COVID related deaths are overused as cause

The way Covid deaths have been recorded its safe to say they didn’t miss many lol.

Another potential factor are false positives. It’s nearly pointless to make country to country comparisons because there are so many variables at work.

LOL, I wear one right now in my backyard because the oak tree pollen is horrendous. Mask wearing has resulted in the whole family being cold and flu free this year.

I was just informed a friend is in the hospital with COVID, the wife, who was staying home is very ill, the daughter is also positive with mild symptoms. They were suppose to go to Disneyland, today. Dad screwed up and went to the store last week to buy a suitcase, he didn’t wear a mask, he is symptom free. She is only 28 years old.

You can make fun of me all you wish, but I will continue to wear my mask. I bet he wears one from now on.

its your right to wear it if you feel that it protects you, it doesn't, but its your right to think it does. its also my right to not wear one and to believe that they do more harm than good. its called freedom and we in this country need to remember what that means.

Fauci didn't either. I have ducked nothing. Thanks for the virology 101 lesson. I addressed this earlier, you seemed to have ducked that. The fact is it is highly unlikely a vaccinated person will engage in viral shedding and studies have confirmed this with all the vaccines show a significant to near zero viral load in the vaccinated persons nose for example.

This isn't peer reviewed yet, but this is the actual data coming out:

Data analysis in a study by the Israeli Health Ministry and Pfizer Inc found the Pfizer vaccine developed with Germany’s BioNTech reduces infection, including in asymptomatic cases, by 89.4% and in syptomatic cases by 93.7%.

So, it looks like people who have been vaccinated can shed virus. Their rate of shedding is lower but it it not zero so Rand is wrong again.

Lack of evidence is not evidence of it not happening. Fauci wasn't the one making the specious claim. Rand Paul was.

He didn't KO ANYBODY! Fauci as much as told Paul that he's crazy.

Here are Fauci's comments when Patty Murray gave him an actual chance to respond without being interrupted. He didn't bad-mouth Paul to get his point across. Fauci has class, Paul doesn't even have a passing familiarity with it. More of the conversation at the link.

"When you have a variant, you have an immunity that you get … against a wild type, you get a certain level of antibody that’s specific for a particular viral strain. If there’s a circulating variant, you don’t necessarily have it. You have some spillover immunity, to be sure, but you diminish by anywhere from two- to eightfold, the protection. So the point I’m saying is that there are variants now circulating.

The point that Senator Paul was making was that if you look at wild type only, there is some clear-cut credence to what he’s saying. But we are living right now in a situation where we’re having a dominance of ... the original U.K. [variant]. We have a very troublesome variant in New York City. ... We’ve got two variants in California. ... And we have a number of others. So we’re not dealing with a static situation of the same virus. That was the only point I’m making."

Ok my bad, I wasn't following the chronology of the posts as TCL is so fond of saying! I've always thought that would make a great name for a Stephen King book!!

We also know that obesity is/was a huge contributor to Covid deaths, if there is any finger pointing to be done it should be at Big Pharma and Big Mac.

I can't disagree with any of this although I prefer Big Mac over Big Pharma!
