Republicans and Limbaugh are Racist - Now Zero Doubt

this faux outrage is laughable....the same people who are 'outraged' here probably (99% sure) never said boo about the liberal rag times using the term....

its only racist if a republican does it...

obama said he didn't real care about this...his peeps said they didn't care, a non issue...but you guys go ahead and keep making it an issue simply because a replican said it...

Whether Obama is offended is not my worry. He is a politician. He sold his soul a long time ago.

But the "they do it too" argument is a bit weak. The fact that some people do not pitch a fit unless it is the opposing party is really not an issue for me.

ok, it is not an issue for you....nonetheless, it is still an issue. since it is not an issue for you, then disucssing the weakness or strengths of argument is a moot point.

Okay, the guy who wants to take the Republican party in a "different direction" is trying to secure his position as the chairman of the RNC by circulating a CD with a song called "Barack the Magic Negro."

This song came from the Rush Limbaugh show, no surprise.

Absolutely disgusting.

The worst part: This guy expects this to help him get in charge of the RNC and it probably will.
The phrase was first coined by Rev. Al Sharpton. Its not racist when he says it therefore its not racist when Rush says it.

It seems to me, Robert Byrd can use language like "White Niggers" and that is NOT offensive... VP-elect Joe Biden can racially stereotype Indians in convenience stores, and that is NOT offensive, Hillary Clinton can laugh about Gas Station Ghandi, and THAT is NOT offensive... Howard Dean can assert that only blacks can be 'wait staff' and THAT is NOT offensive, Geraldine Ferraro can say Obama is popular because he is black, and THAT is NOT offensive, Jessie Jackson can talk about Hymietown, and THAT is NOT offensive, but a comedic parody done for satire on the radio, using a perfectly legitimate word, is somehow 'proof' that all republicans are racist to the bone?

Get your head out of your ass and try to make sense!

Robert Byrd died in the 60's, it just took congress a while to figure it out. And despite his party his state is VERY right wing.

Jessie Jackson is pretty much offensive to everyone I think.
Biden is the king of foot in mouth.
Untill a few months ago I did not even realize Ferraro was still alive wither.
Gas station ghandi? Goodness gracious I had not heard of that one.

Wrong, you fucking moron. Try reading the actual LA Times piece which gave racist pieces of shit like you and Rush Limbaugh the idea that you could walk around using that phrase. Maybe you'll learn something...not that I have high hopes, you Southern piece of white shit.

I think you should send Congress a letter and explain Byrd's death to them, because I think they believe, as do I, that he is still alive. You see, it's the whole 'serving in Congress', taking the floor and speaking, and running for re-election thing... it kinda gives the impression that one is alive. While we're at it, we may want to check the pulse of his VERY right wing constituency, who continues to re-elect a left-wing loon who consistently votes with the Democrats.

Whether Jackson is offensive or not, is not the question. I find most liberals to be offensive, but are they all "racially offensive"? Specifically, is Jackson? And the answer is YES. Likewise with Biden's comments, Hillary's comments and Ferraro's comments. They were racially offensive, regardless of the 'excuses' you want to throw out for them now. You see, when you are given the examples from your own party of what you are chastising Republicans over, it's a never-ending list of excuses and explanations. Here in the 'real world' we call that a 'double standard' and it's not really acceptable unless you are a hypocrite.

The phrase you are all so appalled by, "Barack the Magic Negro", was coined by an LA Times journalist. Now Duhla doesn't consider him a "racist piece of shit" because he is a liberal, or maybe because he drank from the same Fountain of Redemption as Robert Byrd, or perhaps he is black like Jesse Jackson, and therefore exempt from racism? But for whatever reason, the guy who came up with this pearl of wisdom, is given a complete pass, while you proceed to bash and trash all republicans as racists, whether they even listen to Rush or not!

You know, I think, once you are that far out of your minds, there is no way to get you back. You are just beyond hope.

I'm impressed you know a liberal columnist at the liberal times wrote the article. White comedians might as well turn in their comedic badges for the next four or eight years. Can't make any jokes about Obama. David Allen Grier and others will be having a field day.

That's bullshit. This guy wasn't a comedian. He's running for the RNC chairmanship.

You can't blame him. When he was in school black people went to a different one.

He's such a hypocrite. You should have seen this sniveling emotard filled diatribe he wrote about how offended he was that someone called him a redneck one day. And now the archetypal southern redneck himself, "Dixie" has the nerve to argue about a word that's a clear throw back to segregation.

El Wrongo! (not surprising) Go look up Brown v. Board of Education and tell us what year that was... I started school in 1965.

Oh, and you better be careful calling people "black" it is considered "racially offensive" to some, you know! We may have to start calling you a racist!

Now don't go telling Waterhead lies! He'll be searching all night for the 'emotard filled diatribe' to read, since he is into that kind of thing!

It's funny... Dictionary.com doesn't say a thing about "Negro" being a "throwback to segregation" and I don't recall it being the term used back then either. Seems to me, it was "colored" which was in vogue for segregationists.

LBJ used to say "Nigra" ...was that racist? Damn, never thought of the Civil Rights President as being a racist, but maybe he was... after all, he WAS a southern 'redneck!'

Okay, Tiana... Being that you are 'of the darker persuasion', I think you should inform the United Negro College Fund, they need to change their name. And get with your 'brothers and sisters' and let me know what we are going to call "Negro Spirituals" from now on, because I really love that genre of music, and I need to know how to search for it.

Come to think of it, maybe you are offended by "black" too? I mean, you aren't REALLY black, and the word does have 'negative' connotations... we could just invent a totally new word to describe you, but then, it would be associated with describing you, so it would have "racist" connotations as well. Damn, this is a dilemma!

you bring salient points, check this out on wiki:

Around 1442, the Portuguese first arrived in sub-Saharan Africa while trying to find a sea route to India. The term negro, literally meaning "black", was used by the Spanish and Portuguese to refer to people. From the 18th century to the mid-20th century, "negro" (later capitalized) was considered the proper English term for all people of sub-Saharan African origin.

It fell out of favor by the 1970s in the United States after the Civil Rights movement. However, older African Americans from the period when "Negro" was considered acceptable, initially found the term "Black" more offensive than "Negro". Evidence for this is in historical African-American organizations and institutions' use of the term--such as the United Negro College Fund. In current English language usage, "Negro" is generally considered acceptable in a historical context, such as baseball's Negro Leagues of the early and mid-20th century, or in the name of older organizations, as in Negro spirituals, the United Negro College Fund or the Journal of Negro Education. The U.S. Census now uses the grouping "Black or African American."

it was ok, not ok and then some older negros considered black offensive...goodl lord the term means black. what next, is african an insult? maybe i should start crying about white boy...
