Robert Kennedy Assassination

Disagreed that showing concern for your kid is useless.
The open houses were useless. :palm:
You're the kid's parent and mentor.
I led by example. He turned out great.
Voting matters too. Saying one vote doesn't matter is wrong as shown in all the elections swayed by a single vote. On average, it's more of a statement. Election math. It shows how strongly the citizenry supports or opposes a candidate or a proposal. Even if voting third party knowing your candidate will lose. As much as Americans prize their individuality, it's when we vote that we prove we are one nation, one state, or one community.

I'll bet (not you of course) not one election outcome was decided because of either me or Port Tack's vote. Not one.

I remember Ron White giving a show at Fort Polk, LA and being heckled by a severely drunk woman. He'd thanked all the troops and the drunk women said something about them all being lousy fucks. He asked her to consider the common denominator in fucking 39,000+ men and believing the problem is theirs.

For most of us that's true, but each vote counts as part of the public will. Would you rather win something by a margin of 10% or 90%? What does that say to those in power if the margin is close versus being wide?

I think he would have, as well.

It's conjecture, of course, but RFK didn't impress me even a little.

Like his father and big brother, he couldn't keep it in his trousers,
and his ideology was extremely transactional from my point of view.

As someone who grew up in their area, I found Ted to be my favorite of the Kennedys
because he was as consistent as hell and thus easy to understand.

Nevertheless, those who admired RFK certainly deserved the opportunity to vote for him.
I would have voted for him if he were nominated,
but like so many other eventual Democratic nominees,
he'd never get my vote in a primary.

Consistently drunk.
I never did understand why Bostonians worshipped that sack of lard who got away with vehicular manslaughter.
If I remember correctly they had a big photo of him hanging in the Logan airport as if he was someone to be proud of.
Truly disgusting.

The autopsy of RFK has been called the perfect autopsy. I have read it and is extremely detailed. All the shots on RFK came from the rear and angled upward. One passed through his coat . One in his jaw area , the lethal shot. One in his back and one in his neck. They all had stippling. and were from 1.5" or less. Sirhan Sirhan never got closer than 5 feet to RFK and was never behind RFK. If you listen to the audio of the shooting you can hear 12 shots. shots. The gun that Sirhan used was an 8 shot revolver he discharged all 8 rounds 7 hit other people and one hit the door frame. . The armed security guard behind RFK very likely killed RFK.
Given the autopsy that was never allowed in the trial..... God know why .......the trial of Sirhan Sirhan gives new meaning to the phrase; Justice is blind.

I was in 9th grade then. My hope for this country almost died with him that day.
In 67 I worked on his election

RFK came to my hometown

I don't know for sure who did it but the CIA certainly cannot be ruled out. BTW The government STILL will not release all the classified documents on the John Kennedy assassination. Sounds like the government is trying to hide something.
Rubbish.
The first thing to know about elderly conspiracy theorists is that they all have mental issues and should be considered irrational.

Nothing attracts conspiracy theorists like assassinations, even open and closed ones like RFK's.
Agreed. Notice that they like to talk about "the government", meaning millions of people over the past 50+ years, both Republicans and Democrats, Liberals and MAGAts, yet not a peep out of one of them.

If the Orange Jesus was so great, why didn't he order the release of the documents or just steal them like the nuclear secrets who flashed around Mar-a-Lago?

lol the govt. leaks info like a sieve; if there was some grand conspiracy among thieves, criminals, and sociopaths, they would been selling books on what they knew within a year of killing them.
