Runaway Food Prices Driving Some Americans to Dollar Stores for Groceries

Republicans used to tout the same bullshit. Mostly all of the working-class jobs were sent overseas 20 or 30 years ago.
Caused by DEMOCRATS, not Republicans. It was DEMOCRATS that support the unions (causing high prices), and the eco laws that drove a lot of businesses out of the country.
Try finding a living wage job and let me know how that works out for you.
Buzzword fallacy.
Corporatism is killing this country,
Corporations are just a form of business. It is not inherently evil.
yet you blame people who live in food deserts who have to ride the bus home with their groceries.
WRONG. He is writing fiction.
Every post you make proves you are willfully ignorant with no grasp on reality.
You are just describing yourself again. You don't even know what 'reality' even means or how it's defined.

Fiction. All business must deal with competition. No business can just arbitrarily raise their prices. The will be undercut by another business.

You are so totally ignorant. If one store, or company raises their prices the others nearby will follow.
Is it just a coincidence that a 2 str bottle of coke product is almost $2 higher than pre pandemic, and all of the competitors are equal. Is it just coincidence that every gas station in a given area sells their product at the exact same price? Or take airline tickets, is it just coincidence that United and American are so close on fares for similar flights. Its all about corporate greed, profits, returns to stakeholders, salaries and bonuses.

Lie. The rate of inflation Is the raising of prices.
Any business that doesn't make a profit isn't going to be in business long.

Obviously, the concept of capitalism is completely foreign to you.

You are making excuses as usual. Its not about profits, its about excess profits and greed.

You are so totally ignorant. If one store, or company raises their prices the others nearby will follow.
Nothing compels any company to raise prices, other than to keep making a profit. They will raise prices to cover their costs.
Is it just a coincidence that a 2 str bottle of coke product is almost $2 higher than pre pandemic,
No. The dollar has lost a lot of value since then, thanks to the actions of the Federal Reserve operating under Biden.
and all of the competitors are equal.
And they still compete with other.
Is it just coincidence that every gas station in a given area sells their product at the exact same price?
They don't. Gasoline varies in price.
Or take airline tickets, is it just coincidence that United and American are so close on fares for similar flights.
No. The price of fuel has increased and the price of maintaining their aircraft has increased.
Its all about corporate greed,
As opposed to non-corporate greed?
No business stays in business long without profits, dumbass.
returns to stakeholders,
Investors do not wish to lose money, dumbass.
salaries and bonuses.
Those are employees of the company, dumbass. Obviously, you would rather throw them out of the work because you think they are 'evil'.
Obviously, you don't have a job, and you are just whining with avarice.

That it is. Quite a few companies have had to lay off thousands of employees, including Micrtosoft, Google, and Amazon.
Others can't get enough people to work for them. They'd rather stay on welfare.

Inflation is rampant. The government is STILL trying to print it's way of it's predicament.

Biden's spend spend spend just makes it worse

LMAO.

When corporations spent the last 50 years increasing profits by manufacturing in China, they never dreamed that a shut down of the nation would totally destroy the supply chain.

Inflation is a direct result of shortages coupled with record profits by companies taking advantage of same.

Since 1973? Why do you keep saying stupid shit?

Let me say this: I am very insulated from food price inflation as we have mostly stopped going to restaurants again, as I refuse to set foot in Seattle, and as the Oly and Tacoma restaurants continue to die and degrade. WIFE does all the shopping (she likes it). But I notice things were the price has about doubled in 3-4 years, boxes that are a lot smaller now, and foods that are no where near as good as they used to be because the recipes have been cheapened.

Taken all together this is a disaster.

The chances that the food inflation numbers that the government gives us being right are about zero.

The chances that the "experts" who make the call intend to be honest is only slightly better.
