No, the Earth is an open system in terms of thermodynamics. It generates energy, gets energy from the Sun, and from the rest of the universe, along with shedding energy back into space (eg., the universe). Now, the universe might or might not be a closed / isolated system, but the Earth definitely isn't.

In an open system, the amount of energy in versus out can vary significantly.

Given what appears to be a complete lack of understanding of climate change, or as it is believed to work, I'm going to need to to prove that you understand how climate change is believed to work and explain at what point the energy is being magically created.

That's just a cherry-picking fallacy. I listed multiple sources including those from MIT itself. That aside, even if you take the magazine article, unless you can prove the content is a lie or fallacious rather than reporting accurately, my contention stands: MIT et al., says you can trap light and if you don't agree with that, take it up with them.

I temporarily forgot that you are a science denier. In other words, you don't believe that the atmosphere, as it exists right now, has any impact on temperatures on Earth.

As I have said repeatedly, there is no science of Climate Change. The only the religious "theory" which holds Climate Change as a foundational miracle of the faith.
