Sequester! Oh no!!!!!!!!

So the automatic sequester is about to take effect and the man who came up with the idea says it will inflict massive damage on our already weak economy which he claimed was strong and getting stronger.

So let's dissect this shall we

We are going to spend $3,800,000,000,000 this year and the sequester aims to cut $85,000,000,000. For the low information voters out there, that comes out to 0.22% of the entire federal budget.

Put in another way let's say you have $100 and are told you need to not spend 22 cents. Yes, 22 cents.

So how in the hell will they ever cut any real spending when we need to cut trillions and they are freaking out over $85 billion?

Now, for a frame of reference, we just spent $60 billion on Sandy Relief and not one
politician blinked an eyelash. And you wonder why I say this country is on a path to collapse?

Of course Obamas low information supporters on JPP will dutifully line up behind him and lament the sequester cuts

WHen did Jay Carney admit it? Who passed it? Why was it created in the first instance? And if it was Obama's idea, why was John Boehner pitching it to his caucus in a Power Point presentation:

Lets get back on to the purpose of this thread. Do all of you agree that cutting $85 billion of a $3.8 trillion budget will have catastrophic impact?

Congress. It was Obama who said:

Already, some in Congress are trying to undo these automatic spending cuts. My message to them is simple: No. I will veto any effort to get rid of those automatic spending cuts to domestic and defense spending. There will be no easy off ramps on this one.

I guess now that we are past the election Obama is ready for the easy off ramp. 'Just spend more' he cries... 'raise taxes on the rich to pay for it' he chants...

not to mention the fact that since we don't actually have a budget, there is no way to measure any "cuts" from sequestration......the next time they submit an appropriations bill they merely have to say, "we wanted to spend one trillion and 85 billion dollars, but because of sequestration we only spent one trillion".........

I havent heard Obama say that, I have heard him say he wants both spending cuts and increased revenue. Makse sense to me. Revenue is lower than its ever been .

I did not say he has cut spending, I said he wants spending cuts and increased revenue. Untill reciently, spending cuts would have been a very bad idea. You would have gotten the double dip you wanted so badly.

You obviously haven't been paying attention then because even though taxes were raised on the rich at the beginning he is currently calling for more tax increases. He is also out speaking about the damage the spending cuts from the sequester will do to workers and the economy.

He does not want the cuts that the sequester would cause, he wants responsable cuts. He also wants more increased reveune. Those things are not inconsistant with what he has said or done.

actions speak louder than words... Thus far he has managed four years of trillion dollar deficits where spending is far higher than avg as a percentage of gdp. He is currently campaigning against paltry spending cuts the sequester would bring. After getting $600B in tax increases he still wants more and is currently campaigning on that as well.

Pull your head out of the sand Jarod...
