Sexy AOC Makes A Statement

Yes aoc and democrat made a huge statement they are morons.
The top 10 percent of earners pay 70 percent of current taxes

Before we spend money on any domestic program we have to figure out how to pay for it. That generally means raising taxes. If we can't come to some kind of agreement on how to pay for spending, then we don't do it. The measure fails.

We don't have that kind of fiscal responsibility for war. President Bush launched the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq without any thought to how they would be paid for. Alarmingly, as he launched the Afghanistan War, he cut taxes for Americans, reducing the amount available to pay for war. And that at a time when we knew spending was about to go way up. That was just plain irresponsible. Our debt soared as a result.

"As America ends two decades of conflict in Afghanistan, the full financial tab is coming into view. Since the September 11 attacks nearly 20 years ago, the U.S. will have spent $5.8 trillion waging war in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and Syria by the end of 2022, including interest on debt used to finance the wars, according to updated figures from the Costs of War Project at Brown University."

America's price tag for two decades of war: $5.8 trillion

Now we are talking about some much needed domestic spending with a price tag of just $3.5 trillion, and Republicans are throwing up roadblocks, refusing to support it.

There is something wrong here that we have to sharpen pencils and go over all the costs for any domestic spending; but we do not have the same process for war spending.

We could have used all that money spent on needless failed wars for badly needed domestic issues.

Why is it so easy to spend on war, but so difficult to spend on peace?

That is just wrong.

We've got our priorities mixed up.

Is that all inclusive, or does that represent only the opportunity costs above normal peacetime operations?

Ah! I went to the article. There's a graph breaking down their numbers. The author of that article is absolutely full of shit. I don't know what the cost of those wars really was, but it certainly isn't what this author claims.

You are correct, you do not know what the cost of the wars was, but that does not stop you from saying the numbers are not true. Don't you understand what is wrong with that?

I have to ask you this... what are you talking about?

He won't be president again, either.
Of course not. My bet that Harris will be President.
Agreed. It was understood that Biden was too old to run the first time much less a second time, but the Democrats needed to rally around someone and Biden was it.

The best strategic move for the Democrats is for Biden to resign after 20JAN23 and let Harris run as an incumbent President. She could become the first President to serve longer than 8 years since FDR plus the first woman President.

I understand that the article you cited doesn't know what the cost is either and it's likely far lower than it claims.

Please don't get me going on Alexandria Occasional Cortex memes. There is not enough bandwidth here to support that shit.

I didn't ask you a damned thing, toodles. Nor did I name you....but if you're guilty of what I'm referring to (as seen by your actions on this thread in particular) then that is that.
