Agreed on the Constitution's election system. Disagreed on a pure democracy. We have a Republic for good reason.
Neither side seems very interested in solving the illegal immigration problem because it's making too much money for too many people. It's a form of indentured servitude: a boss can threaten them with prison or deportation if they don't work harder for less money. Obviously the boss pockets the money.
A housing contractor will charge you standard prices for a house but if he's using illegals, he can pay them half and pocket the difference. Arresting illegals to solve the illegal immigration problem is like arresting drug users to solve illegal drug smuggling. Better to go after the dealers or, in this case, those that hire, rent to and otherwise support illegal immigration. Neither the Democrats nor the Republicans are interested in that solution for obvious reasons: those "bosses" are paying tons of money into political reelection campaigns. Most politicians are smart enough to not bite the hand that feeds them. Ergo, not viable solutions to solve illegal immigration.
"The Wall" is just to entertain the idiots that something is being done.
