"The Virginia Company of London was a joint-stock company chartered by King James I in 1606 to establish a colony in North America. Such a venture allowed the Crown to reap the benefits of colonization—natural resources, new markets for English goods, leverage against the Spanish—without bearing the costs. Investors, meanwhile, were protected from catastrophic losses in the event of the project’s failure. The company established a settlement at Jamestown in 1607, and over the next eighteen years, the Crown granted the company two new charters, democratizing its governance and reforming its financial model. What began as an enterprise of investors seeking a dividend was funded a decade later almost exclusively by a public lottery."

1606 JackOFF. Be less of a dimwitted wonder dunce. :palm:

Most truthful post I have seen from you JackOFF. Perhaps if you just STFU you wouldn't look like a low IQ uneducated moron?

The Thread is about the 'Flag'. The first flag Washington fought under was the East india Flag/Continental Colors flag.

"Although unofficial, the Continental Colors Flag is considered to be the first American flag. It was used from 1775-1777, preceding the Betsy Ross flag Betsy Ross flag and aiding in its design. The Continental Colors includes a field of 13 alternating red and white stripes with a British Union Jack in the canton."

"The Boston Tea Party was a political protest that occurred on December 16, 1773, at Griffin’s Wharf in Boston, Massachusetts. American colonists, frustrated and angry at Britain for imposing “taxation without representation,” dumped 342 chests of tea, imported by the British East India Company into the harbor.

No, the thread is about "should we ditch the flag" you willful idiot. Be less stupid and dishonest JackOFF. :palm:

Uh, I believe the quote is from some Negress that doesn't know shit about the 'Flag'. So ... are you interested into devolving into 'Negro World' and discussing why we should/shouldn't 'ditch the Flag'?
If so, I'll let you 'discuss' this. Let me know what you come up with. I'm sure it will be important.

No we should not. We should continue to work to make the flag represent the ideals of our founding documents.

The person suggesting this doesn't represent Democrats, at least not this "Democrat"

I can't answer the poll question.

America doesn't completely suck, but it very definitely somewhat sucks.

The major urban cultural centers are quite nice. "Deliverance Country" is quite horrible.

Too many Muslims in Malaysia for my liking.

:) It's odd that a similar flag flies in the East Indies. They don't mention it, we don't mention it, but there does seem to be a connection.

"The English East India Company was the mother of the modern multinational. Its trading empire encircled the globe, importing Asian luxuries such as spices, textiles and teas. But it also conquered much of India with its private army and broke open China's markets with opium. The Company’s practices shocked its contemporaries and still reverberate today. "
