There have been a couple dudes on JPP who went out of their way to brag about their five vacation homes and their collection of luxury cars. That kind of bombast seemed suspect to me.

Anyone who has to brag about their success or riches is not a well-adjusted person. Remember Jits? He went overboard about how rich he was. Why would a normal person do that?

Not a shrink, just a behaviorist, but IMO it's because they are insecure. They could be lying to boost themselves up or they could be telling the truth, but their own insecurities are holding them back. Either way, they should find a counselor, a shrink or join group therapy to ease their pain.

Like you, I'm always suspect of a person who pats themselves on the back a lot and seeks to impress strangers on the Internet.

Yes, excessive bragging to strangers is highly suspect

The other message board classic is the MAGA moron who claims women just throw themselves at him, and he almost has to beat them off :laugh:

Agreed. Such braggadocio to strangers is always suspect. Why would they do that unless they were insecure and needed others to congratulate them?

Note their bragging is emblematic of American culture. Specifically materialism. They brag about being successful financially and sexually. They are not humble or advocates of positive values such as education or charity unless it's to pat themselves on the back as Perry did or TOW's nemesis claiming charity work.

I think it's not a coincidence that a thread like this seems to have brought together every single loser I have on ignore. Never seen so many non visible posts in one thread.
