A high school teacher is accused of showing photos of nude women to his students.

62-year-old James Cottingham, who teaches photography, was arrested and charged with a third-degree crime, promoting obscene material.

The charge stems from an incident when Cottingham allegedly used an interactive whiteboard to show naked pictures of women to the students.

Authorities didn't disclose how many photos were shown but did say they were of adult women.

A Cooper High School agriculture teacher has been arrested for having an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old male student.

According to the Delta County sheriff's office, 29-year-old Jeri Pickering and the boy maintained the relationship for several weeks.

Authorities were notified by the school after the boy's parents discovered inappropriate text messages exchanged between the Pickering and their son.

Pickering was charged with an Improper Relationship Between a Teacher and Student, which is a second degree felony.

A Martin County middle school teacher and her son were arrested and charged with stealing $145,000 from a teacher's union fund, according to the Martin County Sheriff's Office.

63-year-old Marjorie Garland was formerly the Treasurer of the Martin County Education Association (MCEA).

Bond for Garland and her 38-year-old son, Jason, is set at $1 million each.

A teacher at South Medford High School has been arrested for sexting with at least two students, according to Medford police.

Richard Fay, 38, is currently in custody at Jackson County Jail. A preliminary court hearing is set for June 9.

According to police, Fay had sent sexually explicit photos via text to at least two female students. Police have seized evidence regarding the case.

Yesterday, after the story broke, one other student came forward with new allegations against Fay. Fay now faces five new charges, including sex abuse, in addition to prior charges.

A longtime substitute teacher at several King County school districts has been arrested and charged following allegations that he downloaded child rape videos.

Seattle police detectives started an investigation into Sean Christopher Clark in February after spotting a lengthy child rape video on a network. Prosecutors filed charges Friday, accusing Clark, 46, of child pornography offenses.

"The defendant has immersed himself in the lives of children by choice of profession, a deliberate decision no doubt in light of his admitted deviant sexual interest in minors," Senior Deputy Prosecutor Cecelia Gregson said in charging papers.

Investigators came to believe the video had been downloaded and shared on a computer in Snoqualmie, from a home where Clark used to live. The video is a compilation of footage edited together, with "PEDOPHILIA" displayed across the screen in the introduction and featuring children ages 3 to 15, according to Seattle police.

Police found Clark at his current Snoqualmie home Thursday morning and booked him into King County Jail after a long interview, police say. They claim to have found additional child pornography on his computer.

Clark worked in childcare in Issaquah and served as a substitute teacher in the Tahoma, Kent, Enumclaw and Snoqualmie school districts.

A teacher has been arrested on allegations he was romantically involved with a student.

Jake Fenske, who according to Hutto High School's website taught science, has been charged with improper relationship between educator and student.

Sources told KVUE that a 16-year-old girl's father first alerted Hutto police to the relationship after he found inappropriate texts on his daughter's phone from Fenske. The two had also been communicating through Snapchat.

When detectives questioned the teenager she admitted they had begun dating in March. Fenske also admitted to detectives they were dating and "in love."

Fenske told detectives he and the girl had sex at his apartment, in his truck and oral sex in his classroom at Hutto High School.

A teacher at Desert Pines High School has been arrested for having sex with a student.

23-year-old Jonathan A. Scheaffer was booked into Clark County Detention Center on 16 counts of sexual conduct between a school employee and a pupil between 16 and 17 years old.

A Brevard Public Schools principal arrested Friday in connection with a federal child-pornography investigation had been reprimanded as a teacher in 1999 over "inappropriate professional behavior and poor judgment'' and ordered to have no solo contact with a then-6-year-old boy, officials said Friday (June 3).

Ricky Delano Sheppard of Melbourne, 59, was arrested Friday by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations Task Force. A Brevard Public Schools employee since 1981, Sheppard was most recently the principal of Spessard Holland Elementary.

A former star swimmer at Malvern Preparatory School has sued it for alleged negligence, accusing officials and employees at the Main Line boys' school of failing to stop a guidance counselor and swimming coach who harassed him sexually for more than a year.

In the suit, filed Thursday in Chester County Court, lawyers for William Beard said the school and a private swimming association on campus did not properly supervise Emily Feeney or prevent her actions, even after the student and his father told employees that she had sent a barrage of unwanted sexual emails and text messages.

"Her abhorrent and improper behavior towards [Beard] was open and observable," the suit says.

One teacher allegedly told the teenager, "She talks about you like you're her boyfriend." Teachers witnessed Feeney "frequently" pulling Beard out of class to go to her office, the suit says. Beard's lawyers say no one investigated.

On one such occasion, in December 2014, Feeney locked her office door. She sat on Beard's lap, kissed him, and "attempted to engage him in sexual intercourse," according to the suit. When Beard refused, she let him go back to class.

Beard was eventually given another guidance counselor, but Feeney continued to coach him in swimming, the suit said.

The 41-year-old former counselor and coach is serving five years' probation, and had to register as a sex offender, after admitting that she tried to seduce Beard.

A Bridgeport man has been arrested following a three-month long investigation that allegedly detailed ‘inappropriate actions’ between him and some of his students at Stratford High School.

46-year-old Gregg Gustafson faces charges of tampering with a witness, criminal attempt at bribery of a witness and tampering with or fabricating evidence.

The charges stem from an investigation into a complaint made to police.

Gustafson allegedly offered money to one of the complainants in exchange for a change in testimony and the destruction of video evidence.

A Scottsdale teacher stands accused of child prostitution.

24-year-old Connor Cleland taught for BASIS Scottsdale School. He allegedly used a social media app to communicate with a person he believed to be a 15-year-old girl.

Police arrested Cleland after he allegedly set up a meeting with that supposed underage girl.

"He solicited this girl allegedly well-knowing her age. He solicited this girl for a sexual favor in exchange for money, so prostitution," said Detective Seth Tyler.

Tyler shared the disturbing details about why this Scottsdale charter school teacher is facing charges.

"He was charged with a prostitution of a minor, age misrepresentation and attempting to lure a minor," he said.

A teacher was arrested for using his cellphone to take pictures of female students without their consent in his classroom, according to a letter the school’s principal sent out to parents.

The school learned of the allegations after a 14-year-old female reported to police that while she was completing an exam in his classroom after school, she approached his desk to ask a question and noticed that he appeared to be holding his cellphone and taking photographs underneath her skirt.

Police arrested and charged Todd Scriber, a 38-year-old science teacher, on three counts of sexual abuse of a minor.

The three female victims were all Scriber’s students. The students were fully clothed in the photographs, although some of the pictures “emphasized various areas of the female anatomy,” according to the police department.

Super engaged “in sexual conduct which would impair or debauch the morals of a child" that he had legal duty to care for, the complaint charges.

The charges stem from an email exchange with a student, according to assistant superintendent John Frangipani.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, the victim was a 13-year-old female child at the school.

Richard F. Super, 35, of Longwood Drive, was also suspended with pay from his $56,928 a year teaching position, pending tenure charges, according to Vineland Public School officials.
