V-TEC Yo!

Mmhmm, and it sounded like a half a million angry mosquitos!

They like to add the extra mosquitos mufflers around here. Stock isn't mosquito-ish enough.

This thread is OK for highlighting all the new technology n stuff, but how many of these will be produced and available at all?

Yes. They are limited (to the rich) and out of most people's price range.

When it comes to supercars (none of which I can afford) it's the Second Gen. Ford GT.

At nearly 12,000 HP, the quality is there. No other internal combustion engine compares.

Naaa...not for me.
Like I said...I was at a drag meet and it was just ridiculously loud.

Same with old, Formula One engines (before hybrids).
I went to several races and they were just too loud.

To me?
I like low revving, normally aspired-engines.

But each to his/her own.

  • It combines with a hybrid system for an astonishing 1700 horsepower and 2581 lb-ft of torque
  • 0-62 mph in 1.9 seconds
  • All-wheel drive

Each tiny electric motor makes 335 HP and 443 LB-FT of torque. Dubbed the Quark, each motor weighs just 63 pounds.

Does this count?

  • Rolls-Royce Orpheus turbojet engine
  • Afterburner from a Jaguar fighter's Rolls-Royce Turbomeca Adour turbofan
  • 2,500 pounds of thrust without the afterburner or 5,500 pounds of thrust with it lit
  • 0- 272 mph in six seconds
  • 314 mph

Uh, no. It's not an internal combustion engine.

BTW, a funnycar runs over 330 MPH.
