The car thread

Yeah, Biden still has a Corvette. Maybe it's because he wrecked "Doctor" Jill's while she was still married to a good friend of his while he was fucking her on the sly, and it brings back memories of being a back-stabbing, home-wrecking adulterer.

I call bullshit. The only person who tells the story about the car is Jill's ex-husband, a bitter, disgruntled jerk who cheated Jill out of her share of the business when they divorced. Stevenson claims he's writing a tell-all book about Jill and Joe, funny nobody's heard anything about it since his "announcement."

There's nothing exotic about our Grand Cherokee, but we also have an alleged 1962 Corvette.
The only part of it that existed in 1962 was the VIN, appropriated from a '62 Corvette that's been in Gasoline Heaven for decades.

Even the body shell is a GM licensed reproduction.
It lacks little annoying 1962 features like recirculating ball steering, leaf rear springs, and drum brakes; ie, you can actually drive it.
But it also lacks 2022 features like GPS, a backup camera, and lane change warnings, so that's not great.

I'm a big fan of classic repros.

Every single one has been pre-sold at £1.4 million each, and they aren't even in production yet.

Gordon Murray Automotive's T.33 is a new supercar, with the first ones being delivered in 2024.

The entire production run sold out in advance less than a week after order books opened.

It's lighter than a Mazda MX-5, with five times the horsepower

The chassis is a carbon fiber monocoque that includes a safety cell akin to a Formula 1 car. Double wishbone suspension is present front and rear, as are carbon ceramic brakes.
