IMO, it's because their campaign donors like the status quo. When the economic impact of deporting 12M illegals is felt and businesses collapse (or those business owners scream loud enough), maybe something will be done. As the DHS report below notes, the vast majority of illegals are in CA and TX. About 4.6M total of the 12M in the report. The rest are spread across a handful of states with 0.5M or less.

Republicans don't give one tiny fuck about illegal immigration. People who could be smart, like Damocles and Terry Gardner, think that they care about immigration because their media controls them. There is a 0.0% chance that people like Damocles and Terry have ever been negatively impacted by any undocumented immigrant, ever. Then they criticize you and us for citing "unreliable" sources while they suck on the imaginary teat of problems that don't matter.

They care about money. This is why I think they'll only go back to building Trump's vanity wall, deport the violent criminals already in prison and then move onto something else.

Some put profit over morals or their duty.

Disagreed on the Wall. Trump has to make at least a token effort to fulfill his campaign promises.

The criminals will be deported FIRST. Then if people don't voluntarily deport and they are caught remaining in the US they should get 6 months incarceration then be deported and lose the possibility of ever coming back legally. What Biden and Kamala did was not legal. The Democrats should not benefit from IGNORING the LAW. That is subverting Congress. Congress makes the law not the White House.
