“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.” (Amendment 4, United States Constitution)

Donald Trump has Zero obligation to open his tax returns to the public or the Congress regardless of any law written by the Congress unless the Congress or any person can show “probable cause” that Donald Trump has committed a crime and that his tax returns can deliver relevant evidence thereto said crime.

Every honest American should know that the Democrat controlled House of the Congress is simply on another witch hunt to pin any kind of crime or embarrassment on DonaldTrump. That doesn’t meet probable cause of a crime. If The Congress committee insist on getting Trump’s tax returns, I think they’re in for a court fight that will last for months if not years and end up in the Right dominated Supreme Court, and never get to see Trump’s taxes. Just sayin!!!

Sounds like Trumpf has something to hide, which ultimately will be just as politically damaging, or more so, than simply being as transparent and open as other presidents were in disclosing their financial interests to their constituents.

What you perceive as fear is pragmatism. Very telling of your own personal weakness.

As I've said in other threads, the only reason why the 'rats want the returns is to divert the public's attention away from the Administrations success, as well as their own failures.

The simple fact is congress passed a law after the Teapot Dome scandal in 1924. It says the head of the IRS shall provide tax data that is requested by the Ways and Means Committee. The law says Shall, not may. It is legal and inarguable. It was passed to allow the house to perform its oversight function to fight corruption. In short, this is a pefect application of that power. Trump is corrupt and trying to hide the tracks of his crimes. You rightys want his to escape answering for what he has done. You ought to be ashamed .
It is not making them public but giving them to the group that actually crafts and deals with Tax law. Ways and Means deals with taxation, international trade, and customs duties.
You rightys are flailing again.

I fear having ANY of my rights infringed. Infringement is a slippery slope. If it is easy to infringe on a president's rights, then a guy like me doesn't stand a chance.

Trump would have voluntarily released his taxes - like every single other modern president has - unless he feels he has something to hide.

I would be astonished if he did anything blatantly illegal on his taxes. But you and I both know his tax returns are going to show that rich guys like Trump have the system gamed to where their effective tax rate ends up being far lower than the tax rates average schmucks making 50 grand a year have to pay.

And that is exactly why you and Trumpf want his taxes hidden from public view. Because it will confirm what most Americans already suspect - rich guys like Trump have the system gamed for themselves. And rich guys like Trump are trying to keep it that way.
