When you come to think about it, cities don't really need to be bigger than 500 000.... That's big enough for an airport... a seaport... a central business district... 100's of schools, a university, a collage. a dozen good nightclubs...
What are we given up, by not having 10 million people? 100 foot skyscrapers? If it puts the Amazon at risk... who really needs economies of scale to go that far?
No one was flipping out in the 1950's saying America was underpopulated... and we should double our population.
Right now... we should try and slow down the growth... try and not go above 10 million. Then we can figure out how to have a gradual decline...
in the mean time... send the immigrants to the smaller towns.... don't make the traffic 3 hours long in the cities... They're already full.
