Example:
If God told Israel to slay the Canaanite man woman child and beast, then that is what God told them to do.

We can think that it’s unfair or that God was unfair. But it is what it is. No need to force excuses or be willfully ignorant of difficult passages, take them absolutely literally and you wind up a person that understands penal substitution as the only path of reconciliation with the Creator.

What you do is run and hide when you can't defend what you believe. That's a sign of mental illness but most mentally ill people believe others are the ones with the problem.

Those who claim their morals comes from within themselves are the ones that typically change them when it suits the situation. What that means is your morals are subjective and meaningless.

granted, there are a lot of people like that as well.........human nature tends to reflect that attitude, so you are not wrong with that.

That's why relying on human nature isn't a good idea. Even those that espouse the Bible as a guide fall short. The difference is like that of building a house with a detailed set of plans vs. a mental picture in your mind.
