Carter may have been a mediocrity but by any objective measure he was far from being worse than Nixon or W. In fact it was Cartes polices implemented during his administration and continued by Reagan that were responsible for ending the Era of stagflation brought on by Nixon’s misguided policies.

The honest truth is that Carter is vilified by conservatives, particularly the Southern variety, for being an apostate. Carter drove the last stake through the heart of Southern Jim Crow apartheid era and conservatives have vilified him with no substantive facts to back that up ever since.

Carter may have been a mediocrity as President but he wasn’t a criminal who abused power, gutted our military, lied to us about war and severely damaged our economy like Tricky Dick did nor was he a completely inept marrrionette way in over his head like W was. Hell Obama’s chief claim to fame and his historical legacy will for digging this nation out of the Bush shithole.

Do you remember double digit inflation, double digit interest rates, gas lines, under Carter? I sure do. And it wasn't fun to say the least.

You think Carter got a bum rap and that is your choice. I on the other hand think he was terrible that's my choice. So we will have to agree to disagree on this.

Good post. I also respect and admire Mr. Carter for all the post-presidency work he has done with Habitats for Humanity, for world peace, with the Carter Center. He is truly a mensch.

Using objective criteria Nixon stands out on your list. Although he had some substantial and important accomplishments his abuse of power, criminal acts, his handling of the Vietnam war and his economic policies had devestating consequences for the nation. So hands down he was the worst US president in my lifetime and the fact he had to resign or face certain impeachment and conviction is proof of the pudding.

W and his failed foreign policy of unilateralism demonstrated clearly his incompetence and why liberal internationalism has been US policy from FDR till W and Trump. Conservatives apparently learned nothing from the devastating consequences of neoconservative unilateralism and isolationism and it’s abdication of US leadership in the world. The fact that Trump is going that route in trade policy and our NATO alliance is deeply disturbing. His behavior during the recent G7 meeting was alarming and could have profound consequences that could harm our economy and undermine the PAX Americana.

Having said that he hasn’t been in office long enough nor have his policies had the time to demonstrate their worth or lack there of. So to say Trump is worse than Nixon or W, given the facts, is partisan silliness. You simply don’t have the facts to defend that argument.

I chose Obama because of the bullshit reasons the Left said he was qualified; for example:

1. "Palin's inexperienced" when the piece of shit himself, was also inexperienced.

2. Americans emphatically elected Democrat Barack Obama as their first black president, in a historic election which will reshape US politics and the US role on the world stage.

It was skin tone that got this scuz bag elected, and by God, the black Messiah was going to "reshape" US politics and the US role in the world stage."

It's obvious you perverts wanted a black president in the White House, and to hell with his credentials, or lack thereof.
