The Supreme Court faces an existential crisis of legitimacy

The right to obtain and carry guns is validated in the Constitution. Constraining abortions saves lives and carrying a gun has saved untold numbers of lives.

No one accepts school shootings as a routine part of our daily news feeds. It happens but it is not an accepted happening.

Your false equivalency is just that, false.

Good point. Survival of the fittest. Everyone in high school should be armed.

I did not post anything about survival of the fittest. Your straw-man just went up in flames.

States have laws concerning the age that a youth can own a gun.

Try again. Do better.

it survived the stench of the original decision which was based on nothing at all.
.

Rowe is based on a clear standard. Even you should be able to understand it. Under Roe, women have a Constitutional right to an abortion at any time before the fetus becomes viable for life outside the womb, defined as 24 weeks from conception. The Roberts court seems poised to abolish that standard, without creating a new one, meaning Roe will be effectively repealed and states can do what they want.

Well, you're a fascist.

That is so lame I had my dog respond because it's on his level...

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor said it better than any of the court’s external critics. "Will this institution survive the stench this creates in the public perception, that the Constitution and its reading are just political acts?” she asked during oral arguments on Mississippi’s abortion law on Wednesday. “If people believe this is all politics, how will we survive? How will this court survive?”

I don't really care one way or the other. Abortion has never been an issue with me. But I believe this is more about states' rights than abortion. In fact I'm sure of it since the SC is not going to make abortion illegal.

It is also time to limit terms of Justices!

TO 4 YEARS!

There is no other job in the world with a life-time appointment!

These people are not GODS!

The only way for that is that they cannot try for another term after their 10 years is up. A lifetime appointment was supposed to keep them above and out of politics., So rightys like the Federalist society ,follow their careers from college onward tracking what they said all the way. They do not permit a Repub choice to wander from their standards. Any Repub nominee has to meet a purity test, and they lie like hell through the process. They gave us some bad choices.
Many of those they gave to Trump for federal judges were rejected by the bar assoc for being unqualified.

States' rights. I'm pro-death but I admit I have to go with states' rights.

no idea what that meant

It means if the Mississippi judgment is upheld the viability standard established by Rowe will be out the window and states will have either a freer hand in limiting abortion or the right to ban it completely, subject to any
special circumstances the Court might impose such as rape or incest.

Yes, what woman wouldn't want to have a child from a rapist.
