I am fully capable of such


I did it for an entire year at US messageborads as an attempt to brong people together after Gabbys Giffords had a hole blown in her head.



I did not insult anyone for a year



I was constantly insulted by the right wing posters in an attempt to goad me into insulting people.


they were unsuccessful



I easily accomplished that task


If you want to see the proof go to Usmessage board and look up the thread " the civility experiment"



I asked the entire board to join me in the experiment.


Not a single right leaning poster did join the effort


instead they spent all their time trying to get me to break and insult them.





should I pick a subject for us to discuss civilly?

I don't know about you, but I am happily married to my high school sweetheart for 53 years. But I still fantasize when I see a good looking young woman, not that I would do anything.

I think the whole point of my story was that by treating her with honorable intentions she returned my platonic friendship.
