The Trump Presidency Is Over

Out of Bernie, Biden, and Trump, the one with the most independent support is Bernie. And independent voters are how general elections are won.

dude....all Bernie had was independent voters......and only from the millennials who haven't voted since the primaries in 2016.......the same people who wouldn't vote for anyone except Bernie four years ago will not vote for anyone except Bernie now......menwhile, the majority of independent voters (who are NOT millennials who have never actually voted in a presidential election) will choose who to vote for from those actually in the race........according to RCP, they currently favor Trump........

How can you say that? Bernie got almost half the Dems against Hillary. And he was leading this race this year. his audience is far more that independents and most will vote for whoever runs against Daffy,.

Not, I think, if they've got many decades of McCarthyite brainwashing working against them - or at least it will be dicey, whereas the need to get rid of the senile Fatman is desperate. I'd prefer the first myself, obviously.

Bernie calling himself a Socialist does hurt him with dumb Boomers. But even so, he still has enough support among the Center to beat Trump.

Hello StoneByStone,

Left leaning independents say they will vote for whomever the Democratic nominee is, over DT.

Some will, some won't. Because of the electoral colleges, which benefits the Republicans, the Democrat nominee needs as many independent votes as possible. I doubt Biden will get enough to win.

Hello StoneByStone,

No, that's not true. The real problem is for Bernie. He has advocated replacing our health care system. Union members who have fought long and hard, possibly gone on strike to get what they could, and have given up on higher salaries in negotiations to get their health care packages, are not about to want to give that up and vote for replacing our whole health care system.

Bernie's message is correct. It is exactly what we need. and he is right that we need a revolution to get it. Unfortunately his message has not been adopted by enough people to create the revolution it requires. He needs near universal support for universal healthcare and he doesn't have it. It is not how strongly those who support him feel about it, it is how many do not support him.

Democrats need to unite behind one candidate. Like him or not, Biden is the man. It's time to give up on Bernie.

As Bernie has correctly pointed out, most Americans do agree with him on all of his stances. Most Americans do want universal healthcare and an end to private insurance. The only thing stopping Bernie right now is the fear that he can't beat Trump. Most Biden supporters are only supporting him because they think he can beat Trump. That's not how to win an election.

I disagree. I think he will. I want to see the difference be a huge margin, so it will be plainly absurd when DT challenges it, which everyone knows he will.

until Super Tuesday he was getting about 25% of the primary votes........how's that working for him now that every else quit and endorsed Biden?......and if the posters here are any example, NONE of the Bernie voters will vote for Biden......they will stay home and play video games.....

Hello StoneByStone,

It is how this election is going to be won.

Most people don't vote based on who the lesser evil is, like they should. Most people vote based on who they like. With that being said, Biden won't win because not enough people like him. Right now, the people claiming to support him are only doing so because they think Bernie can't beat Trump. They're not Biden supporters, they're just anti-Trump.
