There is only one thing to say here

since y'all believe in 'Karma'...this is not a good way to express your feelings...it may come back to haunt you and yours... Being PC is stupid!

I want happiness in my life so I wish it on others...regardless of their political preference...ya can 'lead a horse to water'...but damn...'ya can't make him drink'...enough said!

So you only say good things about others because you believe there is something in it for you? Interesting. But not surprising.

Anybody want to buy a used evangelical? I mean, Christ, what am I supposed to do with this loser?

I'm open to suggestions. I'm kind of leaning toward the old-fashioned stuff. Lake of fire and all that.

Sorry, but nope. Good luck with unloading him!

Nah.....the lake of fire bit is so 1999

Well you're a good person Damo.

Sorry, I can't help laughing, and plus, I'm having fun getting everyone all riled up. Oh how can she be so mean! So cruel! A fat 76 year old man had died!

And his life means more than the lives of all of the brown babies who died all over the world today, why?

Because we assign his life value, and we do not assign their lives values. But I chose long ago not to be a part of that societal decision. So basically, I care as much about his death as the majority of Americans care about the death of one child on Sub-Saharan Africa.

Who is the bad person? That will be up to some other entity to decide.
Who has expressed anything about brown babies? I feel compassion for their families as well. What would make you think I did not?

I fully understand the implications of my own action. Thanks.

"Aw, you're a sensitive guy Damo.

Me, I only have so much feeling to go around. I'm busy feeling for a whole load of people right now. This guy is a hateful pig. I figure, what kind of woman marries and stays married to a hateful pig? Why, one who is aa hateful little oinker herself, that's who. What kind of kids do two hateful pigs raise? Why, hateful little piglets, that's who.

so I don't have any feeling left to spare for the oinker family. But I don't feel too bad because I know he's got a whole flock of pigs who, in between praying for my death, and the death of Supreme court justices, can spare him and his family a few."

Kind of the way I feel about the Edwards family. I mean... what type of person stays married to a sleazy trial lawyer... especially one that is also a wannabe politician? So I really don't feel sorry for anything that happens to that family either.

Nooo...

I am a realist...and what has the great Darla done for the children of Sudan lately...nothing but political talk...volunteer and go to Sudan and save the "Brown" children..you are a bigoted fool...ya talk the game but fail to play!

I wish no ill will on Falwell anymore than I do you...and I don't follow Falwells congregation anymore than I follow your cynical BS! I'm outta this thread...the Angels above must be having sick feeling about some in here!

Not you, I said you're a good person. I'm speaking in general.

No one said anything about them. Nothing will be said about them all week. But a lot of ink will be spilled talking about Falwell as if he has some worth as a human being. It's all perspective.

"Why should I have compassion for him? Have you seen that fat fuck? Where is the personal responsibility man?

Maybe if he had put down the fork, he wouldn't be on the floor. Not my problem. I didn't force him to eat!"

Funny, coming from a liberal who if memory serves correctly... is FOR a nationalized healthcare plan?

Is this supposed to hurt me? Were you under the impression I'm a member of the Edwards family?

What does that have to do with a prominent supporter of republicans, who are the party of personal responsibility, eating himself to death?

Are only liberals supposed to take personal responsibility? Or more likely, is personal responsibility only for the poor?

It appears to me he was speaking ironically. When Edwards announced his wife's cancer many expressed compassion regardless of the differences of opinion large and small. Others expressed that it was now being used to immunize him against any political attack believing any future discourse would sound like this:

R Candidate: "Well, his policy on (enter subject here) is wrong because (enter logical reason here)."

D Candidate: "How could you say such a horrific thing! His wife is dying of inoperable cancer!"

Sorry Luci... you knew he was coming. I told ya about it at the Christmas party. I say we find Job and stick him with Falwell for a few centuries....

You are something of a...well, one doesn't want to use the term "mental midget", so let's say, something of a child.

You honestly believe that if you wish good things on people, good things are going to happen to you, and if you wish bad things on people, bad things are going to happen to you. You also appear to believe that wishing good things on people will have some effect on what happens to them.

That is childishness.

What was funny Darla was the fact that you said "where is the personal responsibility". Yet, many on the left want things handed out by the government. Saying or acting as if it is the governments responsibility to take care of everyone.

"Is this supposed to hurt me? Were you under the impression I'm a member of the Edwards family?"

Nope... I just detest Edwards in the same manner you do Falwell. I could care less about what happens to them... yet I don't recall you bitching about the press his wife got vs. all the "brown babies". Why is that???

But no such thing ever took place. It has insulated Edwards from nothing.

And I really don't care who wishes him or her, good or ill. It won't effect whether good things happen to them or bad things happen to them. Anymore that Jerry Falwell is going to leap up from his drawer, rip off his toe tag, and say "I'm alive" if I suddenly were to "wish" him well.

Things happen. You either feel badly about them, feel nothing about them, or feel good about them. There is an old saying "I've killed no one, but I've taken pleasure in many an obituary". I'm not here to cry crocodile tears so everyone can feel good about me and we can all share a hug.

You conservative men are so overly emotional and touchy-feely. Buck up guys, and get hold of yourselves.

Because I found her story compelling.

and because I don't have to bitch on account of liberals, that's what republicans are for.

Like you are here Bitching everytime a Republican makes a false move. Take your faux outrage and shove it, God, ok?

"You conservative men are so overly emotional and touchy-feely. Buck up guys, and get hold of yourselves."

So Darla... had I said something like... "I think Edwards wife is an ignorant fool for staying with scum like him and thus am happy she is dying miserably".... you wouldn't have thought it insensitive?

I believe the richest nation in the world is responsible for the health care of its citizens. This of course, does not mean that if you smoke three packs a day and eat like a pig, you're not going to die sooner. Nothing can change that.

What part of that are you having trouble with?

And why don't you find it "funny" when fat white rich republicans, don't assume personal responsibility but preach it for poor people?
