There will be no improvements. At best, the deterioration will be slowed down a bit for a while. It likely won't be enough to save the republic.
We just need to decide if the republic is worth saving, and it doesn't seem that we'll even be able to do that.

I don't understand the latter. It should be obvious that the fifty-state American model is a complete failure.
Let's have the balls to try something that can work.

For sh*ts and giggles, when you meet you people in the real world (say a new neighbor or parent's of your kid's friends or a co-worker) do you attempt to determine their politics immediately to know whether they are worthy of your time or being in your presence? How do you feel people out so to speak in that regard?
