Time for a change

So, who do the Democrats work for? It isn't the little guy or even Middle Class, so who are they beholden to?

A lot of their stuff in the last 50 years seems to be "right of center"....which is essentially a stop gap for the full blown "trickle down" BS of the GOP. This is one of the reasons why I posted the OP. Perhaps they may offer you an alternative?

If we don't defeat Trump we will have fascism.

As I've said before, that is a distinct possibility....which could be nullified via the Congressional elections. Now, if the GOP goes whole hog dictatorship, all bets are off. But too many corporate heads don't want to do business that way on their home turf...directly.

GOP refused to have a real hearing on Trump. They're behind him.

Mmmmm....No! The Obama administration was not "shifting the the country to the left"....if one were to carefully examine ALL of his efforts, attempts and policies. Remember, Obama was a "right of center" Democrat.

No shit, you have to be "right of center" to shift away from the Right. You can't just bring people from the Right to the Left.

If you want to purity spiral, you'll never have change. This is what the Fascists understand. They don't like everything about Trump, but they know he's good enough to bring America closer to Fascism.

Reagan brought Democratic centrists to the right wing.

And now, because spoiled brats don't want to vote for Biden, Trump is going to get reelected. And the Democrats, thinking America has spoken, will move to the Right.

Obama was a dumpster fire when it comes to foreign policy, but if it wasn't for the ACA, nobody would be talking about Medicare for All. If Biden loses, this will set healthcare back twenty years.

All Democrats will vote for Biden. Even Republicans are coming out saying they will vote Biden.

Your first sentence doesn't make sense! you claim Obama was shifting the country to the left, were in actuality his policies didn't....which cost the Dems the House & Senate, as I explained previously https://www.justplainpolitics.com/showthread.php?147482-Time-for-a-change&p=3869820#post3869820

Your saying you have to be "right of center" to shift away from the Right doesn't make sense because were talking about the Dem party, which was deemed basically "liberal"...so right of center liberal means leaning to a more conservative mindset.

This "purity spiral" neologism is yours, not mine. I'm point to straight out, plodding towards systemic change. Remember, the Tea Party didn't happen overnight. Fascists wrest control when people keep fighting back with the same old tools, refusing to acknowledge failing of said tools. That's why I posted the OP.

Because they foolishly think they can control everything....the Covid-19 situation shows different. Even if you believe the conspiracy that it's manufactured to gain martial law, the reactions of the people across the board would make that move a hot mess. Throw in environmental disasters, and having Dump in for 4 more years straight would mean a true oligarchy similar to some fascist and communist countries...and I'll wager or corporate heads won't cotton to that in their own backyard, as it inevitably leads to revolution.

When a candidate has low enthusiasm, which I hope we can agree Biden does, it's more likely that people who would prefer that candidate won't actually be bothered to vote.

"71% of college students plan to vote in 2020—and they heavily prefer Biden over Trump

"For the report, the organizations surveyed 4,000 full-time college students and found that 71% are “absolutely certain” they will vote this year.

"“If 71% of the ballpark 10 million undergrads at four-year colleges turned out, it would have a sizable impact on the election,” says Evette Alexander, director of learning and impact at the Knight Foundation, noting that such a high participation rate is still unlikely and would be unprecedented.

"When asked “If you were to cast your vote today, for whom would you vote?” 70% of those surveyed said they would pick former Vice President Biden and only 18% of students said they would pick President Donald Trump. A significant 81% of those surveyed said they have an unfavorable view of Trump. "
