Said as if all liberals are the same - an incorrect assumption.

Such an assumption is a basic mistake which leads to a lack of understanding.

Just think of it. When conversing with conservatives, it is obvious that they are not all the same at all. Liberals, then, are equally likely to have great differences in views and composure.

Assuming that all people in a group act the same is an example of prejudice. A mistake which can lead to clouded judgement.

The fact of the matter is that Americans are free to have individual views which they do across both the left and the right across the political spectrum.

Yes we are all free to have our own views but I stand by my original statement on liberals in general not being able to accept facts and logic that go against what they want to believe is true. If that were not the case there would be no liberals because facts and logic are always counter to their emotion based opinions.

It is possible for conservatives to be motivated by emotion and liberals can be motivated by logic.

For instance. It is logical that for a nation to thrive that the government should help where capitalism fails. That produces minimal destitution. Capitalism produces winners and losers, government can act to even the score a little bit. And it should, because doing so benefits the entire nation. Government social programs lift people out of poverty and lets them become productive members of society. More productive members of society results in a better nation for all.

Capitalism in and of itself does not produce winners and losers. It does however enable individuals to rise or fall based on their own work ethic, their own life goals and makes them responsible for their own decisions.
Socialism makes government your mommy and you don't have to grow up. Mommy will be there for you no matter what poor decisions you make. Some people find that appealing. Personally I don't.
